Computation of the dipole moments of proteins
A simple and computationally feasible procedure for the calculation of net charges and dipole moments of proteins at arbitrary pH and salt conditions is described. The method is intended to provide data that may be compared to the results of transient electric dichroism experiments on protein solutions.

This study uncovers a new switching mechanism in HfO2 and ZrO2, where the absence of a non‐polar layer along the a‐direction induces interaction between polar layers. Consequently, the switching barriers for growth are lower than those for nucleation in this direction, leading to a size‐dependent coercive field that matches experimental observations ...

Versatile electric fields for the manipulation of ultracold NaK molecules
In this paper, we present an electrode geometry for the manipulation of ultracold, rovibrational ground state NaK molecules. The electrode system allows to induce a dipole moment in trapped diatomic NaK molecules with a magnitude up to 68% of their ...

Toroidal electric dipole enabled chiral surface lattice resonances in stereo propeller metasurfaces
Surface lattice resonances (SLRs) are the coherent collective interactions between periodically arranged nanoparticles, which are generally considered to be formed by the resonant electric dipole, magnetic dipole, or electric quadrupole moments of a ...

A New Synthesis for new Class of Opaque Compounds in Radiography [PDF]
This paper reports a new green synthesis for some anthranilic derivatives as new opaque compound in radiography in poly (ethylene) glycol as a green and reusable solvent. In opaque reagents there are polar functional group and non polar one.

Neutron electric dipole moment from lattice QCD [PDF]
We carry out a feasibility study for the lattice QCD calculation of the neutron electric dipole moment (NEDM) in the presence of the $\theta$ term. We develop the strategy to obtain the nucleon EDM from the CP-odd electromagnetic form factor $F_3$ at ...

Which Chromium–Sulfur Compounds Exist as 2D Material?
2D chromium sulfides synthesized using molecular beam epitaxy on graphene. Structural characterization reveals two novel 2D materials, Cr2S3‐2D, which lacks a direct bulk counterpart, and Cr223S${\rm Cr}_{2\frac{2}{3}}{\rm S}$4‐2D, a minimum thickness version of Cr5S6. However, attempts to synthesize CrS2 are unsuccessful. Both new 2D phases are stable

From Low Symmetry to High Dissymmetry: Chiral Plasmonic Films of Binary and Nanobipyramid Assemblies
This work develops highly dissymmetric chiral plasmonic thin films by helically assembling gold nano bipyramids within a liquid‐crystal template. Engineering of the chiroptical response is achieved by varying particle size and geometry, as well as preparing binary assemblies.

Non-integral form of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation for polarized molecules
The Gross-Pitaevskii equation for polarized molecules is an integro-differential equation, consequently it is complicated for solving. We find a possibility to represent it as a non-integral nonlinear Schrodinger equation, but this equation should be ...
