All-Optical Sensing of the Components of the Internal Local Electric Field in Proteins

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2012
Here, we present a new all-optical method of interrogation of the internal electric field vector inside proteins. The method is based on experimental evaluation of the permanent dipole moment change upon excitation and the pure electronic transition ...

Strong CP violation and the neutron electric dipole form factor

open access: yes, 2005
We calculate the neutron electric dipole form factor induced by the CP violating theta-term of QCD, within a perturbative chiral quark model which includes pion and kaon clouds.

First Measurement of the Atomic Electric Dipole Moment of (225)Ra. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2015
The radioactive radium-225 ((225)Ra) atom is a favorable case to search for a permanent electric dipole moment. Because of its strong nuclear octupole deformation and large atomic mass, (225)Ra is particularly sensitive to interactions in the nuclear ...

Purification tags markedly affect self‐aggregation of CPEB3

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Although recombinant proteins are used to study protein aggregation in vitro, uncleaved tags can interfere with accurate interpretation. Our findings demonstrate that His₆‐GFP and His₁₂ tags significantly affect liquid droplet and amyloid fibril formation in the intrinsically disordered region (IDR) of mouse cytoplasmic polyadenylation element‐binding ...

Magnetic Dipole Moment of Neutrino

open access: yes, 2015
We recalculate the magnetic moment of neutrinos in a hot and dense medium. The magnetic dipole moment of neutrinos is modified at high temperature and chemical potential.

Authigenic 10Be/9Be ratio signatures of the cosmogenic nuclide production linked to geomagnetic dipole moment variation since the Brunhes/Matuyama boundary

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research - Solid Earth, 2016
Geomagnetic dipole moment variations associated with polarity reversals and excursions are expressed by large changes of the cosmogenic nuclide beryllium‐10 (10Be) production rates.

Electric Dipole Moment of the Neutron from 2+1 Flavor Lattice QCD. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2015
We compute the electric dipole moment d(n) of the neutron from a fully dynamical simulation of lattice QCD with 2+1 flavors of clover fermions and nonvanishing θ term.

Graphene–Catechol Dental Sealant: Antibacterial and Mechanical Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents dental sealants made with graphene and L‐DOPA‐modified graphene. L‐DOPA enhances graphene dispersion, improving sealant properties. The material shows antibacterial activity against S. mutans and L. casei, along with high strength and elasticity.

Multiphoton spectroscopy: An optical window into molecular electrostatics

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
Quantitative knowledge about static molecular electric dipole moments is essential for understanding of intramolecular charge transfer as well as nanometer-scale static electric interactions.
