A theory on perturbations of the Dirac operator
We consider perturbations of a first-order differential operator with matrix coefficients known as the Dirac operator. These operators have one singular point which is allowed to be either zero or infinity.

Yukawa-Lorentz symmetry of interacting non-Hermitian birefringent Dirac fermions
The energy spectra of linearly dispersing gapless spin-3/2 Dirac fermions display birefringence, featuring two effective Fermi velocities, thus breaking the space-time Lorentz symmetry.

Dirac Operators in Gauge Theory [PDF]
This paper is a mixture of expository material and current research material. Among new results are examples of generalised harmonic spinors and their gauged version, the generalised Seiberg-Witten equations.

Magnetic doping of the topological insulator Bi2Te3 with erbium adatoms induces out‐of‐plane magnetism and breaks time‐reversal symmetry, opening a Dirac gap and driving a Fermi surface transition from hexagonal to star‐of‐David geometry. Microscopy, spectroscopy, and magnetic dichroism reveal atomically controlled magnetic interactions that tailor the

Generalised Dirac-Schrödinger operators and the Callias Theorem
We consider generalised Dirac-Schrödinger operators, consisting of a self-adjoint elliptic first-order differential operator $\mathcal {D}$ with a skew-adjoint ‘potential’ given by a (suitable) family of unbounded operators.

Semiclassical limits for the QCD Dirac operator
We identify three semiclassical parameters in the QCD Dirac operator. Mutual coupling of the different types of degrees of freedom (translational, colour and spin) depends on how the semiclassical limit is taken.

Resolving the Structural Duality of Graphene Grain Boundaries
Cantilever ncAFM resolves the atomic structure of grain boundaries in graphene, revealing coexisting stable and metastable types. Both contain pentagon/heptagon defects, but metastable GBs show irregular geometries. Modeling shows metastable GBs form under compression, exhibiting vertical corrugation, while stable GBs are flat.

On Huygens' principle for Dirac operators associated to electromagnetic fields
We study the behavior of massless Dirac particles, i.e., solutions of the Dirac equation with m = 0 in the presence of an electromagnetic field. Our main result (Theorem 1) is that for purely real or imaginary fields any Huygens type (in Hadamard's sense)

Minimally doubled fermions and spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking
Chiral symmetry breaking in massless QCD is a very important feature in the current understanding of low energy physics. Low - lying Dirac modes are suitable to help us understand the spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking, since the formation of a non ...
