Direct current machines control in unbalanced AC networks

IV IEEE International Power Electronics Congress. Technical Proceedings. CIEP 95, 2002
This work presents the results and the methodology used for simulation of DC machines operating in an unbalanced electrical network, where it is expected that the representation of the AC power supply network involves cables, utility equivalent transformer, converter bridges, representation of the DC machine, and representation of the control and ...

Current and future research directions in network optimization

Computers & Operations Research, 1981
Abstract In this paper, we discuss a number of current and future research directions in network optimization. First, we categorize current research efforts as primarily methodological or primarily applied and we carefully define the boundaries of each class. In addition, we survey the present capabilities of network algorithms.

Secure underwater acoustic networks: Current and future research directions

2016 IEEE Third Underwater Communications and Networking Conference (UComms), 2016
Underwater Acoustic Networks (UANs) are widely used in various applications such as climate change monitoring, pollution control and tracking, tactical surveillance and offshore exploration. However, limited consideration is given to the security of such networks, despite the fact that the unique characteristics of UANs make these networks vulnerable ...

Evolution of networking: Current problems and future directions

2007 Third International Conference on Security and Privacy in Communications Networks and the Workshops - SecureComm 2007, 2007
Networking, as a piece of technology, seems to be on the brink of its second fundamental revolution. The first revolution was the move from wires to packets; a phenomenon that started in late 1950’s, gained speed in the 1980’s and 1990’s, and seems to be coming to its conclusion right now.

Active distribution network protection scheme based on area current direction

2017 China International Electrical and Energy Conference (CIEEC), 2017
After the distributed generation is connected to the distribution network, the topology of the unidirectional power supply of the traditional distribution network has been changed, which may lead to the problem of voltage limit and bidirectional power flow. The traditional current protection method is no longer applicable.

Toward modeling ad hoc networks: current situation and future direction

IEEE Wireless Communications, 2013
The last decade has witnessed a tremendous increase in both the number of mobile devices and also the consumer demand for mobile data communication. As a consequence, networking technologies are shifting from traditional highly centralized toward future organically distributed so as to meet such great demand. As the most general networking architecture,

Eddy current crack extension direction evaluation based on neural network

2012 IEEE Sensors, 2012
In this paper we study the nondestructive evaluation of crack extension direction by using the differential eddy current testing sensor which is composed of two planar circumferential gradient winding spiral coils. The experiment test is set up and a series of cracks with different widths are detected.

Networked multimedia systems courses: evolution, current courses, and future directions

Proceedings International Conference on Information Technology: Coding and Computing (Cat. No.PR00540), 2002
This paper presents an overview of courses in the evolving discipline of networked multimedia systems (NMS). Many new subjects and some courses on NMS are already on offer at various universities. Most of the current subjects in NMS are offered in existing computer science and computer engineering courses.
