Direct data-driven filter design for automotive controlled suspensions

open access: yes2009 European Control Conference (ECC), 2009
This paper investigates the filter design problem for automotive controlled suspensions when no mathematical model of the system is available, but a set of initial experiments can be performed, where also the variable to be estimated is measured.

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

An introductory survey of probability density function control

open access: yesSystems Science & Control Engineering, 2019
Probability density function (PDF) control strategy investigates the controller design approaches where the random variables for the stochastic processes were adjusted to follow the desirable distributions. In other words, the shape of the system PDF can

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Hybrid Feature Selection Approach to Finding Optimal Feature Subsets for Vehicle Lateral Velocity Estimation

open access: yesIEEE Access
This study develops a methodology that estimates the lateral velocity of vehicles by integrating an artificial neural network (ANN) with physics for optimal feature selection.

Private car use in Austria by demographic structure and regional variations [PDF]

open access: yes
Due to its manifold impact on the environment private car use represents an important dimension of en-vironmental behaviour in industrialized countries. Obviously, private car use is related to demographic characteris-tics of households such as the life ...

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Emotional distraction and bodily reaction: Modulation of autonomous responses by anodal tDCS to the prefrontal cortex

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular Neuroscience, 2015
Prefrontal electric stimulation has been demonstrated to effectively modulate cognitive processing. Specifically, the amelioration of cognitive control over emotional distraction by transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) points towards targeted ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
