An Explicit Electron-Vibron Model for Olfactory Inelastic Electron Transfer Spectroscopy
The vibrational theory of olfaction was posited to explain subtle effects in the sense of smell inexplicable by models in which molecular structure alone determines an odorant's smell.

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Laser Pulse Deposited Nanosized Ceria for Direct Electron Transfer of Glucose Oxidase
Ceria has a high isoelectric point (IEP~9.2) and its cerium atom reversibly undergoes oxidation/reduction process therefore theoretically capable through electrostatic interactions of immobilizing enzymes with lower IEP and of electrons mediating ...

Optical orientation of electron spins and valence band spectroscopy in germanium
We have investigated optical orientation in the vicinity of the direct gap of bulk germanium. The electron spin polarization is studied via polarization-resolved photoluminescence excitation spectroscopy unfolding the interplay between doping and ...

Direct simulation of proton-coupled electron transfer across multiple regimes [PDF]
The coupled transfer of electrons and protons is a central feature of biological and molecular catalysis, yet fundamental aspects of these reactions remain poorly understood.

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Importance of charge capture in interphase regions during readout of charge-coupled devices [PDF]
The current understanding of charge transfer dynamics in charge-coupled devices (CCDs) is that charge is moved so quickly from one phase to the next in a clocking sequence and with a density so low that trapping of charge in the interphase regions is ...
