Performance enhancement of air conditioner in hot climate by condenser cooling with cool air generated by direct evaporative cooling

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2021
This research studied the direct evaporative cooling technique for generating cool air in hot–dry and hot–humid climates. For direct evaporative cooling, three parameters affected the air temperature: feedwater temperature, wet-bulb temperature, and mass

Evaluating coefficient of performance and rate of moisture loss of some biomass humidifiers materials with a developed simple direct stand-alone evaporative cooling system for farmers

open access: yesEnergy Nexus, 2022
The purpose of this study was to investigate the feasibility of deploying a direct evaporative cooler with Jute fibre, palm fruit mesocarp fibre and wooden charcoal as a humidifier in Nigeria. The high cost of imported evaporative coolers and humidifiers

A Study on Thermal Effectiveness of Multi-Stages Evaporative Air Cooling

open access: yesWasit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2020
The air conditioning system performance is significantly affected by temperature rise which causes continuous increase in electricity consumption and pollution problems to environment.

Roof cooling by direct evaporation from a porous layer [PDF]

open access: yesEnergy and Buildings, 2016
As the world continues to urbanise, significant challenges are arising to environment, energy and water sustainability in cities. One of the most challenging consequences of increased urbanisation is increased energy consumption adversely affecting the quality of life, environment and public health.

Enhancement of evaporative cooling system in a green-house by geothermal energy

open access: yesOpen Engineering, 2022
Greenhouse is one of the most recent agricultural systems that provides an economic resource by increasing production and allowing crops to be grown all year. In Iraq, this approach encounters an impediment during the summer.

Direct Simulation of Evaporative Cooling

open access: yesEQEC 96 1996 European Quantum Electronic Conference EQEC-96, 1996
We have simulated the evaporative cooling of trapped atoms using a very efficient method originally introduced for the study of molecular gas dynamics. This straightforward and intuitive method allows the dynamics of the evaporative cooling process to be studied and requires fewer simplifications and assumptions than other methods.

Two Stage Evaporative Cooling of Residential Building Using Geothermal Energy

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2019
The weather of Iraq has longer summer season compared with other countries. The ambient temperature during this season reaches over 50 OC which makes the evaporative cooling system suitable for this climate.

Experimental Investigation of a Direct Evaporative Cooling System for Year-Round Thermal Management with Solar-Assisted Dryer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Photoenergy, 2020
Building cooling is achieved by the extensive use of air conditioners. These mechanically driven devices provide thermal comfort by deteriorating the environment with increased energy consumption.

Direct surface wetting sprinkler system to reduce the use of evaporative cooling pads in meat chicken production: indoor thermal environment, water usage, litter moisture content, live market weights, and mortalities

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2021
An overhead sprinkler system that directly applies water onto meat chickens in tunnel ventilated houses was evaluated and compared with a conventional evaporative cooling pad system at 2 commercial farms in south-eastern Queensland, Australia.
