Physicochemical Characterization of Direct Fluorescent Antibody Reagents

Journal of Dental Research, 1976
When the data from performance and physicochemical studies of conjugates are combined for analysis, the performance data and specific titers show a direct relationship to the physicochemical data (Table 2). These reagents were prepared from the same lot of antiserum. The specific titers are very misleading without the accompanying data (Table 2).

Legionella pericarditis diagnosed by direct fluorescent antibody staining

The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1995
Legionella pericarditis is a rare and serious manifestation of Legionnaire's disease. A case is presented in which the diagnosis was established by direct fluorescent antibody staining on a pericardial tissue specimen. Video-assisted thoracoscopy was used safely and effectively in diagnosis and management in this case.

CYTOMEGALOVIRUS INFECTION: DETECTION BY DIRECT FLUORESCENT-ANTIBODY TECHNIQUE

The Lancet, 1972
Abstract A technique for detection of cytomegalovirus (C.M.V.) in tissue-culture by direct fluorescent-antibody staining is described. Of 150 urine specimens inoculated, 42 were positive by the fluorescent-antibody technique. By detection of cytopathic effect in routinely inoculated tissue culture, 36 of these were positive initially.

Rabies neutralizing antibody determination in tissue culture by direct fluorescent antibody technique

Journal of Biological Standardization, 1975
Abstract Rabies neutralizing antibody levels were determined in 143 human serum samples by applying a direct fluorescent-antibody test to BHK-21/S13 cells treated previously with dilutions of the test samples mixed with constant amounts of challenge virus.

Direct labeling of serum proteins by fluorescent dye for antibody microarray

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2017
Analysis of serum proteome by antibody microarray is used to identify novel biomarkers and to study signaling pathways including protein phosphorylation and protein-protein interactions. Labeling of serum proteins is important for optimal performance of the antibody microarray.

Detection ofPneumocystis carinii with direct fluorescence antibody and calcofluor white stain

Infection, 1996
Direct fluorescence monoclonal antibody stain (DFA) was compared prospectively, with calcofluor white (CFW) stain for the diagnosis of Pneumocystis carinii in 163 respiratory specimens from 97 patients. The patient population included persons with HIV infection (58%), bone marrow transplant recipients (10%), immunosuppressed patients owing to ...

Direct-Smear Fluorescent Antibody Cytology as a Field Diagnostic Tool for Trachoma

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1986
A recently developed direct-smear fluorescent antibody (DFA) cytology method of detecting chlamydial infection was evaluated in an area where trachoma is endemic. Four hundred seventy-five children aged 2 to 10 years were examined, and adequate conjunctival cytology specimens were collected from 457 (96%).

Evaluation of the direct fluorescent antibody test for diagnosis of chlamydial infections

European Journal of Clinical Microbiology, 1985
The direct fluorescent antibody test and two culture methods were compared for accurate diagnosis of chlamydial infections. Using the same samples, 109 were found to be positive in the microtitre method with the direct confirmation test without subpassage, whereas 66 were positive in the vial method with Giemsa staining and subpassage.
