A precise direct georeferencing system for UAVs

2014
A georeferencing of the collected data is required for many unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based remote sensing applications in the fields of surveying, precision farming, infrastructure inspection or geography. This georeferencing can generally be done indirectly using ground control points, or directly using an on-board sensor system.

Accuracy of direct georeferencing strategies to monitor geomorphological features

2022
<p>Geomorphic systems face significant changes of climate, land uses, vegetation cover and socio-demographic characteristics. In this context, the accurate monitoring of geomorphological features may be a relevant tool to understand the consequences and the risks of these changes.

Accuracy analysis of MAMS data using direct georeferencing

2012 Second International Workshop on Earth Observation and Remote Sensing Applications, 2012
The conventional airborne photogrammetry is difficult to implement in some areas, such as marine, deserts, grassland and high mountain regions where the installation of ground control point (GCP) is dangerous or impossible. With the availability of integrated GPS and inertial measurement units (IMU), which are also called POS, this situation is ...

Direct georeferencing of ADS40 using calibrated POS data

2011 International Conference on Multimedia Technology, 2011
The ADS40 is airborne three-line-push broom imaging sensor integrated with POS, which developed by L. H. Corporation. Due to the accuracy of POS, especially the accuracy of orientation cannot meet the requirement for large scale mapping. This paper provides mathematical model for POS data calibration using a few GCPs.

Approximate Correction of Length Distortion for Direct Georeferencing in Map Projection Frame

IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2013
Many geometric distortions, such as earth curvature distortion and length distortion, exist in the map projection frame. Therefore, in aerial photogrammetry, if direct georeferencing is performed in the map projection frame, the crucial work becomes compensating for the effect of the various geometric distortions.

Accuracy of Pléiades Photogrammetric Products Under Direct and Controlled Georeferencing

2019
Space-based photogrammetry has benefitted from significant advancements recently, with progress in software, analytical techniques, and a surge in image availability. However, no photogrammetric products can be considered perfect. Estimates of error from photogrammetric modelling are thus important to characterise when faced with the various processing

Transformation of UAV Attitude and Position for Use in Direct Georeferencing

2016
The direct georeferencing in aerial photogrammetry requires precise measurement of position and attitude of an image sensor, because the object point position is computed directly using this data. But for several reasons, data from onboard inertial navigation system can not be used for this purpose directly.
