Comparative Drug Response Profiling in Neuroblastoma Cell Lines and Patient‐Derived Tumor Organoids

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT High‐risk neuroblastoma remains a leading cause of pediatric cancer mortality, and improved preclinical models are needed to guide therapeutic developments. We screened seven high‐risk neuroblastoma cell lines and three patient‐derived tumor organoids with 528 compounds alongside bone marrow controls, and compared them with external datasets ...

Direct Observation of Peptide Hydrogel Self-Assembly [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
The characterization of self-assembling molecules presents significant experimental challenges, especially when associated with phase separation or precipitation. Transparent window infrared (IR) spectroscopy leverages site-specific probes that absorb in

Direct Observation of Oxygen Superstructures in Manganites [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2007
We report the observation of superstructures associated with the oxygen 2p-states in two prototypical manganites using x-ray diffraction at the oxygen K-edge. We determine the nature of the orderings and discuss our picture with respect to novel theoretical models.

Impact of Radiation Therapy on Physical and Psychosocial Health of Adolescents and Young Adults: A Joint Report From the Children's Oncology Group AYA and Radiation Oncology Committees

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Rates of cancer among adolescents and young adults (AYA), age 15–39 years, are increasing. Consequently, radiation oncologists are treating more AYAs who have diagnoses spanning both pediatric and adult practices. Compared to pediatric and older adult patients, AYAs face a unique set of challenges.

Direct Observation of Anapoles by Neutron Diffraction [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2019
The scope of magnetic neutron scattering has been expanded by the observation of electronic Dirac dipoles (anapoles) that are polar (parity-odd) and magnetic (time-odd). A zero-magnetization ferromagnet Sm0.976Gd0.024Al2 with a diamond-type structure presents Dirac multipoles at basis-forbidden reflections that include the standard (2, 2, 2) reflection.

Social Functioning Within the First Years After Pediatric Brain Tumor Diagnosis and the Relationship With Family Psychosocial Risk

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Survivors of pediatric brain tumors (PBTs) can experience long‐term social difficulties, impacting quality of life. Beyond medical and environmental factors, family psychosocial risk may play a role in social outcomes by shaping the caregiving environment and may provide intervention options.

Direct Observation of the Aharonov-Casher Phase [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2006
Ring structures fabricated from HgTe/HgCdTe quantum wells have been used to study Aharonov-Bohm type conductance oscillations as a function of Rashba spin-orbit splitting strength. We observe non-monotonic phase changes indicating that an additional phase factor modifies the electron wave function.
