How to use…the direct ophthalmoscope
Archives of disease in childhood - Education & practice edition, 2017Ophthalmoscopy and red reflex examination are core medical skills required to identify sight-threatening and life-threatening disease. We discuss the predictive utility and limitations of findings with an ophthalmoscope and tips as to how to optimise these.

Binocular direct ophthalmoscope.
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1969In the study of small areas of the fundus as the disc and macula, depth relationships may be of considerable importance. A binocular direct ophthalmoscope has been designed to accomplish such observation with greater simplicity than other techniques. The instrument produces a magnification of 15 times, an excellent stereoscopic effect, and is hand held.

Directional light scanning laser ophthalmoscope
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2005The cone photoreceptor mosaic of the living human eye has in a limited number of cases been imaged without the use of wavefront-correction techniques. To accomplish this, the directionality of the photoreceptors, as manifested by their waveguiding properties, may be used to advantage.
