The work demonstrates that strategic wall‐thickness grading in diamond triply periodic minimal surface lattices enables precise tuning of deformation and failure behavior under compression. Different gradation patterns guide how and where the structure collapses, improving energy absorption or promoting controlled brittle failure.

Assessing the Impacts of Single Farm Payments on Farm Investment and Output in French Arable Farms: a Dynamic Stochastic Farm Household Model with Debt Constraints [PDF]
The Common Agricultural Policy has radically been reformed in 2003 with the introduction of “decoupled” direct payments. Economic theory suggests that direct payments are expected to have no impact on production in a static deterministic environment with

Multifunctional atomic layer deposited coatings and interface treatments enhance direct solar water splitting on GaAs/GaInP tandem cells. Optimized TiO2/Pt nanoparticle bilayers ensure durability and catalytic efficiency with minimal optical losses, while H2 plasma pretreatments maximize photovoltage and interfacial charge extraction.

Distributional effects of direct payments in Switzerland [PDF]
The switch from market-support to direct payments in Switzerland had impacts on the income distribution among farmers. In this paper, the distributional effect of the switch as a whole and of the different kinds of direct payments are elaborated through ...

This study introduces a novel multi‐scale scaffold design using L‐fractals arranged in Archimedean tessellations for tissue regeneration. Despite similar porosity, tiles display vastly different tensile responses (1–100 MPa) and deformation modes. In vitro experiments with hMSCs show geometry‐dependent growth and activity. Over 55 000 tile combinations

Direct payments and rent extraction by land owners: Evidence form New Member States [PDF]
Since the accession of the eight Central and Eastern European countries, farmers in these countries started to receive substantial agricultural subsidies. Agricultural subsidies alter farmer production incentives and thus factor demand and factor prices.

The EU Budget and Common Agricultural Policy Beyond 2020: Seven More Years of Money for Nothing? Bertelsmann Shiftung Reflection Paper No. 3 August 2018 [PDF]
At the outset of European integration, farming featured high on the political agenda for good reason: the food security of postwar Europe was at stake. But by the 1980s, subsidies to agriculture still accounted for two-thirds of the EU budget. Today, the

The dielectric properties of clays are studied on the level of individual monolayers and functional double stacks. The material breakdown characteristics and charge storage performance are analyzed. For illustration, a defined charge pattern representing a cuneiform character is produced, written into a microscopic clay tile, referencing the origins of

ANALYSIS REGARDING THE DIRECT PAYMENTS IN THE EUROPEAN UNION [PDF]
Direct payments to European farmers through the common agricultural policy are extremely important to them. The CAP has undergone countless changes over time and has been modified in the circumstances.
