Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Improved Direct Power Control for Grid-Connected Voltage Source Converters

open access: yesIEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2018
A novel grid voltage modulated direct power control (GVM-DPC) strategy for a grid-connected voltage source converter is proposed to control the instantaneous active and reactive powers directly.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Direct Power Control Strategy based on Space Vector Modulation

open access: yesKongzhi Yu Xinxi Jishu, 2010
Direct power control technology is applied on three-phase PWM rectifier. Using space vector modulation instead of switching tables can eliminate the bad effect of unconstant switching frequency on the rectifier.

Finite Control Set MPC for DFIG Direct Power Control in Distorted Grids

open access: yesIEEE Access
This work proposes Finite Control Set - Model Predictive Control (FCS-MPC) for direct power control of grid-connected Doubly-Fed Induction Generators (DFIG) under distorted voltage situations.

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Predictive Approach for Power Quality Improvement Based Direct Power Control

open access: yesInternational Journal of Power Electronics and Drive Systems (IJPEDS), 2018
The extensive use of non-linear loads in industry becomes increasingly a serious problem that affects the quality of energy delivered to customers. Therefore, the shunt active power filter (SAPF) has emerged as an important industrial tool to eliminate induced harmonic currents   and compensating of reactive power.
