From Wet Chemistry to Portable NIR: Robust High‐Throughput Compositional Models for Biomass Pretreatment

open access: yesJournal of Chemometrics, Volume 40, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study demonstrates a robust chemometric framework for high‐throughput compositional analysis of lignocellulosic biomass using a portable near‐infrared (NIR) spectrometer. Sugarcane bagasse solids produced by pressurized solvent fractionation (PSF) under batch and continuous conditions were analyzed to predict cellulose, hemicellulose, and

Immortalization of Human Adult Alveolar Epithelial Cells to Study Environmental Exposures of the Distal Lung

open access: yesCurrent Protocols, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Alveolar epithelial cell type 1 (AT1) and type 2 (AT2) cells make up the saccular gas exchange units of the lung, called alveoli. Formation of alveoli during lung development accounts for the expansive surface area of the lung, allowing for proper respiration and delivery of oxygen to the body.

Direct and Indirect Pulp Capping

Dental Clinics of North America, 1976
Cavity disinfection, indirect pulp capping, and direct pulp capping have been discussed in light of present day knowledge of the biology of the pulp. A format has been presented to the restorative dentist which has had long-standing clinical acceptance based on some scientific data and clinical evidence to substantiate the treatment radionale.

Considerations and Treatment of Direct and Indirect Pulp-capping

Dental Clinics of North America, 1985
Depending on the clinical setting, vital pulp therapy can be managed with an indirect or direct pulp-capping procedure. The determination of which therapy to employ is a decision that must be made by the clinician at the time of treatment.

The CO2 laser as an aid in direct pulp capping

Journal of Endodontics, 1998
Two hundred direct pulp capping procedures were conducted in the present study. One hundred of them were performed with the CO2 laser, and 100 were conducted conventionally as a control by using a calcium hydroxide preparation. Follow-up examinations were performed after 1 wk and monthly for 12 months after treatment.

A clinical study of direct pulp capping applied to carious-exposed pulps

Journal of Endodontics, 1996
Direct pulp capping of carious-exposed pulp was performed on 44 teeth. We evaluated the success rates of these cases, and analyzed the relationships between the success rates and their clinical findings. Furthermore, we examined the length of time necessary for adequate postoperative follow-up. The success rate in this study was 81.8%.

A Hybrid Approach to Direct Pulp Capping by Using Emdogain with a Capping Material

Journal of Endodontics, 2011
This study evaluated the formation of reparative hard tissues in baboon pulps after Emdogain (EMD) application in conjunction with 3 pulp-capping materials.Thirty-two premolars in four 3-year-old baboons were randomly assigned to 1 of 3 pulp-capping materials.
