Shear-driven size segregation of granular materials: modeling and experiment
Granular materials segregate by size under shear, and the ability to quantitatively predict the time required to achieve complete segregation is a key test of our understanding of the segregation process.

A Topology Optimization Framework for the Inverse Design of Nonlinear Mechanical Metamaterials
This work uses topology optimization to design unit cells for mechanical metamaterials with a prescribed nonlinear stress–strain response. The framework adds contact and postbuckling modeling to synthesize microstructures for three highly nonlinear responses, including pseudoductile behavior, monostable with snap‐through buckling, and bistable ...

Hubungan Batas Cair Dan Plastisitas Indeks Tanah Lempung Yang Disubstitusi Pasir Terhadap Nilai Kohesi Tanah Pada Uji Direct Shear [PDF]
The Clay has a low shear force properties, large density, small permeability coefficient and has alow bearing capacity. To increase the bearing capacity of the clay can be used a mixture of sand.In this study, the test is done by using the Direct Shear ...

Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Numerical study on the mechanism of shear performance degradation of thawing glacial debris
The sensitivity of the ice-water transition in glacial debris to temperature rise has become a significant concern. In recent years, there has been an increase in reports of ice avalanches caused by the thawing of glacial debris, which can be attributed ...

3D‐Printed Sulfur‐Derived Polymers With Controlled Architectures for Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries
Rheology‐guided formulation design for direct ink writing enables the fabrication of 3D sulfur copolymer cathodes with controlled architectures for lithium‐sulfur batteries. The printed electrodes exhibit multiscale porosity and high sulfur utilization, delivering enhanced electrochemical performance compared to conventional cast electrodes.
