P4bm framework in NaNbO3‐Ba(Ti, Hf)O3 ferrodistortive relaxor entails short‐range and highly‐polar ferrodistortive orders. The abundant highly‐polar orders facilitate to increase entropy change, and robust octahedral oxygen tilt enables to impede thermal perturbations.

Pantera: A PIC-MCC-DSMC software for the simulation of rarefied gases and plasmas
We present Pantera, an open-source, parallel, particle-based code for the simulation of rarefied gases and plasmas. The code uses the Particle-in-Cell (PIC) method for the solution of ionized flows in the electrostatic approximation, coupled to the ...

Computation of Hypersonic Flows Using the Direct Simulation Monte Carlo Method [PDF]
The direct simulation Monte Carlo method has evolved over 50 years into a powerful numerical technique for the computation of complex, nonequilibrium gas flows. In this context, “nonequilibrium” means that the velocity distribution function is not in an equilibrium form due to a low number of intermolecular collisions within a fluid element.

Geometry‐driven design of soft cellular metamaterials is systematically investigated by combining experiments, finite element modeling, and statistical prediction. The study quantifies how unit cell geometry and material properties govern stiffness, instability, densification, and energy absorption.

Scalar and Parallel Optimized Implementation of the Direct Simulation Monte Carlo Method
The implementation of the direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method is studied especially for simulation of rarefied gas flows in which molecular effects become important. The development of a large system named MONACO is described. A localized data structure is used.

Programmable 2D magnetic clusterphenes are realized through a ligand‐mediated cluster‐assembly strategy. Direct linking of magnetic superatomic clusters enhances electron delocalization and symmetry breaking, enabling the concurrent strengthening of magnetic exchange interactions and spin–orbit coupling.

Hydrodynamics and rheology of a dilute granular plane Couette flow [PDF]
We simulate the plane Couette flow of a dilute granular gas using the Direct Simulation Monte Carlo method. We calculate relevant hydrodynamic and rheological quantities and highlight the effects of driving shear rate and inelasticity on them.

Strategies for Efficient Particle Resolution in the Direct Simulation Monte Carlo Method
This paper considers several issues of the so-called direct simulation Monte Carlo method (DSMC) as a statistical particle method for the computation of nonequilibrium gas flows. The gas flow is modeled by a large number of particles representing physical molecules and atoms on the microscopic level.
