Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Relative injectivity and CS-modules

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1994
In this paper we show that a direct decomposition of modules M⊕N, with N homologically independent to the injective hull of M, is a CS-module if and only if N is injective relative to M and both of M and N are CS-modules. As an application, we prove that

Some numerical characteristics of direct sum of operators

open access: yes, 2020
The numerical range W(T) of a linear bounded operator T on a Hilbert space is the collection of complex numbers of the form (Tx,x) with x ranging over the unit vectors in the Hilbert space.

A Direct Sum Theorem in Communication Complexity via Message Compression [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We prove lower bounds for the direct sum problemfor two-party bounded error randomisedmultipleround communication protocols. Our proofs use the notion of information cost of a protocol, as defined by Chakrabarti et al. [CSWY01] and refined further by Bar-

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

On totally projective QTAG-modules

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science, 2019
A module M over an associative ring R with unity is a QTAG-module if every finitely generated submodule of any homomorphic image of M is a direct sum of uniserial modules.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Metric dimension of a direct sum and direct product of metric spaces

open access: yes, 2020
For an arbitrary metric space (X, d) subset A \subset X is called resolving if for any two points x \ne y \in X there exists point a in subset A for which following inequality holds d(a, x) \ne d(a, y).

Sum-Frequency Generation in High‑Q GaP Metasurfaces Driven by Leaky-Wave Guided Modes

open access: yes, 2022
Resonant metasurfaces provide a unique platform for enhancing multiwave nonlinear interactions. However, the difficulties over mode matching and material transparency place significant challenges in the enhancement of these multiwave processes.
