A hybrid system based approach to Direct Torque Control (DTC) of induction motors

18th Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation, MED'10, 2010
In this paper, we study the Direct Torque Control (DTC) of an Induction Motor coupled to an Inverter (Inv-IM). DTC permits to control directly the stator flux and the torque by selecting the appropriate inverter state. DTC has been introduced because it presents several advantages in comparison to other techniques such as voltage/frequency control ...

A novel Direct Torque Control (DTC) method for dual three phase induction motors

2006 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology, 2006
This paper introduces direct torque control (DTC) of dual three phase induction machines (DTPIM). In this paper the DTPIM has two, three phase windings spatially shifted by gamma electrical degree that is 30deg or 60deg. DTPIM drive has 64 inverter switching states which provide higher possibility in selecting space voltage vectors than three phase ...

Direct Torque Control (DTC) and three phase induction motor simulation in MATLAB/Simulink

i-manager’s Journal on Instrumentation and Control Engineering, 2023
Direct Torque Control (DTC) is considered one of the most effective methods for the decoupled control of electromagnetic torque and speed in an induction motor. In DTC, torque is directly regulated by the torque angle, defined as the difference between the stator flux angle and the rotor flux angle.

A novel direct torque control (DTC) for six-phase induction motors with common neutrals

2008 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion, 2008
This paper introduces direct torque control (DTC) for six-phase induction motors (SPIM) with common neutrals. The machine has six phase windings spatially shifted by 60 electrical degrees and connected to a single neutral. SPIM drive has 64 inverter switching stages which provide higher possibility in selecting space voltage vectors than three phase ...

A Direct Torque Control (DTC) method for dual three-phase induction motors using ANFIS

2008 40th North American Power Symposium, 2008
In this paper, an adaptive neural fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) is employed for the control of a PWM based direct torque control (DTC), driving a dual three-phase induction machine (DTPIM). DTPIM has two sets of three-phase windings spatially phase shifted by gamma (=60deg in this research) electrical degrees.

Direct torque control (DTC) for six-phase symmetrical induction machine under open phase fault

MELECON 2008 - The 14th IEEE Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference, 2008
In this paper, a new direct torque control (DTC) algorithm for six phase induction machines (6PIM) when one phase is lost will be introduced. The machine has two sets of three phase windings spatially shifted by 60deg electrical degrees. A general decoupled model of the induction machine with up to four open phases is given.

A review on Direct Torque Control (DTC) of induction motor: With applications of fuzzy

2016 International Conference on Electrical, Electronics, and Optimization Techniques (ICEEOT), 2016
At present, induction motors are the dominant drives in various industries. It is quite cumbersome to control an induction motor (IM) because of its poor dynamic response in comparison to the DC motor drives. The central theme of Vector Control (VC) is to decouple the stator current of the IM into two orthogonal components and is to control these two ...

Four level decoupled SVPWM based direct torque control (DTC) of open end induction motor drive

2012 International Conference on Advances in Power Conversion and Energy Technologies (APCET), 2012
In this present paper, a decoupled method for a fixed switching frequency direct torque control (DTC) using four level inverter is discussed. In this approach the four level voltages are generated by using cascaded connection of two conventional two level inverters which are fed with the unequal dc link voltages.

Study of direct torque control (DTC) system of permanent magnet synchronous motor based on DSP

ICEMS'2001. Proceedings of the Fifth International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (IEEE Cat. No.01EX501), 2002
The paper puts forward a sort of realizing project of direct torque control (DTC) system of permanent magnet synchronous motor based on DSP. It mainly introduces the theory of the system's realization and the design method of software and hardware. Through experiment, it indicates the feasibility of the projects and displays the prominence of the chip.
