Fabrication of foam metal in directed energy deposition applying titanium hydride
Directed Energy Deposition (DED), which is one of the Additive Manufacturing (AM) processes, can deposit metallic production efficiently by irradiating a high-power laser beam on a baseplate and supplying material powder simultaneously. DED has a problem

The thermal diffusivity of MgO‐C refractories is highly sensitive to sample preparation and processing procedures. In this article, the effects of coking sequence, machining conditions, structural inhomogeneity, and graphite coating application on measurements using laser flash apparatus are systematically investigated.

Fast ignition of fusion targets by laser-driven electrons
We present hybrid PIC simulations of fast electron transport and energy deposition in pre-compressed fusion targets, taking full account of collective magnetic effects and the hydrodynamic response of the background plasma.

A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Part-agnostic ultrasonic melt pool vibration in wire-laser directed energy deposition
Ultrasonic vibration assistance has proven itself as a useful tool in homogenizing microstructures and improving structural properties in localized fusion processes (welding, additive manufacturing, etc.).

Working distance passive stability in laser directed energy deposition additive manufacturing
In Laser Directed Energy Deposition (L-DED), closed loop control systems can be used to enhance system reliability; however, modulating controlled parameters can have unintended secondary morphological and microstructural effects.

Oxide‐Free Titanium Coatings by Wire Arc Spraying in a Silane‐Doped Inert Atmosphere
A silane‐doped argon atmosphere enables the production of oxide‐free titanium coatings via twin‐wire arc spraying at ambient pressure. This innovative approach eliminates residual oxygen, creating process conditions that prevent oxidation and nitride formation.

Loss of control in pattern-directed nucleation: a theoretical study
The properties of template-directed nucleation are studied close to the transition where full nucleation control is lost and additional nucleation occurs beyond the pre-patterned regions.
