Mutual coupling effects correction in microstrip arrays for direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation

IEE Proceedings - Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation, 2002
The presence of mutual coupling severely degrades the performance of an adaptive array. A simple method based on obtaining an N/spl times/N coupling matrix, C, to compensate for the coupling effects in direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation algorithms is presented.

Comparative Study of Wideband Subspace Direction of Arrival (DOA) estimation methods

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2008
Signal subspace Methods like ESPRIT, MUSIC and MATRIX PENCIL, provides high resolution Direction Of Arrival (DOA) estimation in comparison to traditional Delay and Sum and Capon methods, which are limited by sensor spacing. However underwater Acoustics signals are inherently wideband in nature and most of these Subspace methods works on narrowband ...

Estimation of direction of arrival (DOA) using real-time Array Signal Processing

2008 International Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2008
Array Signal Processing (ASP) is a relatively new technique in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) with many potential applications in communication and speech processing. Direction of arrival (DOA) can be estimated using different techniques evolved with ASP.

Direction of Arrival (DOA) Estimation using Electrically Small Resonant Dipole Antennas

2006 IEEE Conference on Radar, 2006
In this paper we present a methodology for the direction of arrival (DOA) estimation using the induced voltages that are measured at the feed points of electrically small resonant dipole antenna arrays illuminated by the signal of interest. The matrix pencil method is applied directly to the induced voltages to estimate the DOA of the various signals ...

Direction of Arrival (DOA) Estimation and Multi-User Interference in a Two-Radar System

2009
Abstract : Multistatic radars utilize multiple transmitter and receiver sites to provide several different monostatic and bistatic channels of observation. Multistatic passive and active radar systems can offer many advantages in terms of coverage and accuracy in the estimation of target signal parameters.

Shaped sensor for material agnostic Lamb waves direction of arrival (DoA) estimation

2018
In this work, a sensor formed by clustering three ad-hoc shaped piezoelectric patches is proposed for guided waves direction of arrival (DoA) estimation in laminate composite and metallic structures. The irregular shaping of the transducer electrodes allows to simplify the signal processing procedures which are necessary to detect the wave DoA.
