The purpose of a radio direction finder (df) is to measure the direction of arrival of a radio signal. Traditionally the azimuth angle of arrival, i.e., the angle of arrival in the horizontal plane, has been considered sufficient to define the ...

Direction Finding of BPSK Signals Using Time-Modulated Array
IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2018A direction-finding algorithm by the time-modulated array (TMA) is proposed for binary phase shift keying (BPSK) signals. In the proposed scheme, only two antenna elements and a single RF channel are required, and the switch period has no relation with ...

Block- and Rank-Sparse Recovery for Direction Finding in Partly Calibrated Arrays
IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2017A sparse recovery approach for direction finding in partly calibrated arrays composed of subarrays with unknown displacements is introduced. The proposed method is based on mixed nuclear norm and $\ell _1$ norm minimization and exploits block-sparsity ...

Bearing receivers are an important component of electronic warfare equipment, but their technical level today seems to be insufficient in a number of parameters. Aim of work ā to create a receiver with a small unevenness of the frequency response, which significantly affects the bearing error.

Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 1930
THE art of navigating any mobile craft depends essentially on being able to determine the position of that craft with relation to a fixed point or points; the position may either be obtained in the form of a bearing on, and a distance from, any known fixed point, or of simultaneous bearings from two or more fixed points, which bearings are laid off on ...

Current direction-finding practice
Proceedings of the IEE - Part B: Radio and Electronic Engineering, 1958Direction-finding practice in Britain is reviewed over the frequency band 10kc/sā400Mc/s; the survey is restricted to land-based systems. Current applications are outlined, the factors affecting accuracy are discussed with particular reference to those concerned with propagation, and equipment is described. The applications are numerous, ranging from ...

Finding Dominators in Directed Graphs
SIAM Journal on Computing, 1974This paper describes an algorithm for finding dominators in an arbitrary directed graph. The algorithm uses depth-first search and efficient algorithms for computing disjoint set unions and manipulating priority queues to achieve a time bound of $O(V\log V + E)$ if V is the number of vertices and E is the number of edges in the graph.
