Direction finding circuit arrangement

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1985
A sonic energy scanning apparatus in which two directional primary sonic energy beams at two different frequencies are radiated into a medium capable of producing nonlinear acoustic effects to produce a third sonic energy beam having a given directional characteristic and a frequency equal to the difference between the frequencies of the primary beams.

Acoustic direction finding systems

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1987
Hydrophone systems in which the direction of acoustic waves impinging on an array of hydrophones is determined from measurements of the periods between successive zero-crossings of waves detected by the two hydrophones of each of several different pairs of the hydrophones, allowance being made for the fact that the start and finish of such a period may

Direction finding antennas

1992
This chapter discussed the direction finding antennas having two classes to distinguish this. These are (i) Terrestrial or airborne types requiring omniazimuth but limited elevation coverage (ii) Systems for tracking space vehicles and radio stars where essentially hemispherical coverage is required.

Multimode based direction finding

Conference Record of the Thirty-Fourth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (Cat. No.00CH37154), 2002
Direction finding by exploiting higher order modes of a modified biconical antenna is considered. The direction of arrival (DOA) of an incident wave is estimated by using the fact that the different modes have different directional properties. Since only one antenna element is used, the spatial requirements of an array of elements is avoided as well as

Finding the illuminant direction

Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1982
Shading is important for estimation of three-dimensional shape from the two-dimensional image, for instance, for distinguishing between the smooth occluding contour generated by the edge of a sphere and the sharp occluding contour generated by the edge of a disk.

Direction findings on whistlers

Journal of Geophysical Research, 1959
Efforts to study the direction of arrival and polarization of whistlers have led to confusion, presumably because of the complexity of the signals and their transient behavior. This letter describes one technique which shows promise in that it has given results on the direction of some whistlers.

Electromagnetic Direction Finding Techniques

1975
Abstract : The report summarizes research and development addressed to the problem of electromagnetic direction finding in the UHF frequency range. Both theoretical and experimental investigations are described under three topical headings. These include the analysis of slot antennas on a conducting cylinder, the hardware development of a T-bar fed ...
