Combined phase-difference and amplitude-comparison technique for Wi-Fi direction-finding with high angular sensitivity and ambiguity mitigation in a wide field of view

open access: yesResults in Engineering
An interferometric antenna system for Wi-Fi direction finding (DF) using only two directive tilted antennas, is proposed in this work. Typically, more than two receiver chains are needed to obtain high angular sensitivity, with a distance between ...

Cumulative Social Disadvantage and Disease Activity in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis: A Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance Registry Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Social determinants of health (SDOH) contribute to juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) disparities, but most studies have assessed SDOH independently rather than cumulatively across individual, family, and neighborhood levels. Using a socioecological framework, we investigated the relationship among cumulative social disadvantage ...

Discordance Between Patient and Physician Global Assessments in Early Systemic Sclerosis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective This study aims to identify factors associated with patient global assessment (PtGA) and physician global assessment (PhGA) and discordance between them in systemic sclerosis (SSc). Methods Data from adults with early SSc (<5 years) from the Collaborative National Quality and Efficacy Registry were included.

High sensitivity multi‐channel digital receiver for wideband very weak signal direction‐finding classified by machine learning

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar & Navigation
For weak signal detection with direction‐finding (DF), this article presents a new receiver design approach that combines our accumulatively increasing receiver sensitivity (AIRS) signal detection algorithm with the compressive‐sensing (CS)‐based DF ...

T-duality of anomalous Chern-Simons couplings

open access: yes, 2011
It is known that the anomalous D$_p$-brane Chern-Simons couplings are not consistent with the standard rules of T-duality. Using compatibility of these couplings with the linear T-duality transformations, the B-field gauge transformations and with the ...

Breathers in the weakly coupled topological discrete sine-Gordon system [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Existence of breather (spatially localized, time periodic, oscillatory) solutions of the topological discrete sine-Gordon (TDSG) system, in the regime of weak coupling, is proved.

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

2D shape classification and retrieval [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We present a novel correspondence-based technique for efficient shape classification and retrieval. Shape boundaries are described by a set of (ad hoc) equally spaced points – avoiding the need to extract “landmark points”.

Detecting Galaxy-Filament Alignments in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey III

open access: yes, 2019
Previous studies have shown the filamentary structures in the cosmic web influence the alignments of nearby galaxies. We study this effect in the LOWZ sample of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey using the "Cosmic Web Reconstruction" filament catalogue.

Prime diagnosticity in short-term repetition priming: Is primed evidence discounted, even when it reliably indicates the correct answer? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The authors conducted 4 repetition priming experiments that manipulated prime duration and prime diagnosticity in a visual forced-choice perceptual identification task.
