The Effect of Item Modality and Note-taking on EFL Learners’ Performance on a Listening Test [PDF]
The pivotal role of listening comprehension in second/foreign language learning requires that researchers conduct studies which investigate factors that affect test takers’ performances. The present study was set out to examine whether item modality (i.e.

Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

Tabular foundation model interrogates the synthetic likelihood of metal−organic frameworks. Abstract Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are celebrated for their chemical and structural versatility, and in‑silico screening has significantly accelerated their discovery; yet most hypothetical MOFs (hMOFs) never reach the bench because their synthetic ...

Anomalous Stiffening of a Conjugated Polymer During Electrochemical Oxidation
The electromechanical response of a thienothiophene‐based conjugated polymer with triethylene glycol side chains is investigated. Electrochemical nanoindentation and atomic force microscopy reveal a modest and reversible increase in elastic modulus at room temperature upon electrochemical oxidation.

Nonlinear Measures for Characterizing Rough Surface Morphologies
We develop a new approach to characterizing the morphology of rough surfaces based on the analysis of the scaling properties of contour loops, i.e. loops of constant height. Given a height profile of the surface we perform independent measurements of the

Viscoelasticity‐driven instabilities are harnessed to create tunable, periodic textures in 3D‐printed liquid crystalline polymers. This study illustrates how processing parameters control these spontaneous meso‐scale patterns. These unique structural architectures unlock new possibilities for functional devices, ranging from photonic components to ...

An analysis of interplanetary solar radio emissions associated with a coronal mass ejection
Coronal mass ejections (CMEs) are large-scale eruptions of magnetized plasma that may cause severe geomagnetic storms if Earth-directed. Here we report a rare instance with comprehensive in situ and remote sensing observa- tions of a CME combining white ...

Toughening β‐Ga2O3 via Mechanically Seeded Dislocations
β‐Ga2O3 is promising for next‐generation semiconductors but its brittleness limits flexible and high‐precision applications. Here, mechanically seeded dislocations introduced by surface deformation improved damage tolerance in (001) β‐Ga2O3. Nanoindentation and characterization show dislocations suppress cleavage cracks by enabling stable plastic ...
