Direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation in the presence of array signal coupling
2011 8th International Conference on Information, Communications & Signal Processing, 2011Direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation is an important function in array signal processing. Many DOA estimation algorithms have been proposed catering for different situations and accuracies requirements. Nevertheless, most of these algorithms were designed based on the assumption of using ideal array sensors such as antennas with no interaction between

Precision of direction of arrival (DOA) estimation using novel three dimensional array geometries
AEU - International Journal of Electronics and Communications, 2017Abstract Numerous methods for direction of arrival (DOA) estimation, used in smart antennas have been already reported in previous studies. The precision of DOA estimation depends on the choice of the algorithm and the geometrical configuration of the antenna array. In this work, the performance of new geometrical configurations, i.e.

Comparison of conventional and subspace based algorithms to estimate Direction of Arrival (DOA)
2016 International Conference on Communication and Signal Processing (ICCSP), 2016The Direction of Arrival (DOA) technology and researches are evolving areas in array signal processing. Biomedicine, sonar, radar, seismology, astronomy communication and earthquake widely use this estimation. We receive an incoming wave by sensing an array or a set of arrays, this sensed wave can be processed to derive many related estimation ...

Perfomance Study of Direction of Arrival (DOA) Estimation Algorithms for Linear Array Antenna
2009 International Conference on Signal Processing Systems, 2009This paper presents the performance analysis of five direction of arrival estimation algorithms namely Bartlett, Minimum Variance Distortion less Response (MVDR), Linear Prediction and MUSIC DOA Estimates. We present the description, comparison and the performance and resolution analyses of these algorithms. Sensitivity to various perturbations and the

A Genetic Algorithm based solution to three dimensional Direction of Arrival (DOA) problem
2008 IEEE International Multitopic Conference, 2008Estimating Direction of Arrival (DOA) of a signal in three dimensional space is a procedure which is difficult to perform in a reverberant and noisy environment, yet it demands high degree of precision. One of the most reliable techniques under reverberant conditions is Multi-Sensor Steered Response Power with Phase Transform filter (SRP-PHAT) but it ...

Single Snapshot Direction of Arrival(DoA) Estimation Using Variant Min-Norm Method
2018 International Conference on Communication and Signal Processing (ICCSP), 2018High resolution algorithms for angle estimation is essential to achieve resolution of targets in radar systems. Major drawback of existing subspace based algorithms is that its performance gets degraded for reduced number of snapshots. When number of snapshot is less than number of sources, resolution offered by subspace based algorithms are very less.

A method used for estimation of the position of a moving pulse emitter with constant pulse repeat interval by a single observer is studied. The performance of the estimator depends on the emitter trajectory. A specific trajectory that is symmetrical about the closest point of approach is considered.
