Neural Network–Assisted Metasurface Retroreflector With Wide‐Angle Adaptivity

open access: yesElectron, Volume 4, Issue 2, May 2026.
This work proposes a wide‐angle, multi‐polarization, self‐sensing, and self‐adaptive intelligent metasurface retroreflector, with a planar profile and ultrathin thickness. By integrating a pre‐trained artificial neural network (ANN), the metasurface retroreflector can recognize the incident angle and promptly adapt to changes in the incoming wave.

Joint Estimation of DOA and TDOA of Multiple Reflections by Matrix Pencil in Mobile Communications

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
This paper presents the joint estimation of the direction of arrival (DOA) and the time difference of arrival (TDOA) for multipath signals, which is the central issue for mobile communications.

Cerebral Hemodynamic Changes During Cardiac Surgery: A Feasibility MR Study in Piglets

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 5, May 2026.
Congenital heart disease surgery in infants requires cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), which increases the risk of brain injury. Conventional heart‐lung machines (HLMs) cannot operate inside MRI scanners, limiting real‐time assessment of cerebral changes. We developed an MR‐conditional HLM and tested it in piglets during CPB.

A Novel Direction-of-Arrival Estimation via Phase Retrieval with Unknown Sensor Gain-and-Phase Errors

open access: yesSensors, 2019
In signal array processing, high-resolution direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation algorithms work well on the assumption that the system models are perfect. However, in practicality, there are imperfect system models in which sensor gain-and-phase errors

Super-resolution diffractive neural network for all-optical direction of arrival estimation beyond diffraction limits

open access: yesLight: Science & Applications
Wireless sensing of the wave propagation direction from radio sources lays the foundation for communication, radar, navigation, etc. However, the existing signal processing paradigm for the direction of arrival estimation requires the radio frequency ...

Selective Range Iterative Adaptive Approach for High-Resolution DOA Estimation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, the problem of direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation for a uniform linear array with single-snapshot observations is addressed. Two non-parametric DOA estimators are developed, which can be applied in any azimuth range with one snapshot ...

A Novel Method for DOA and Time Delay Joint Estimation in Multipath OFDM Environment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2020
Joint time delay and direction of arrival estimation based on uniform linear arrays in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems has to face the problems posed by coherent multipath environments and high computational complexity.
