Direction of Arrival (DOA) and Channel Estimation
Future fit demand combined with a flexible technical solution that is by latest wireless technology stands for. Estimating of the user's location is going to be an integral system with the upcoming mobile technology. This chapter shows some techniques for estimating the direction of arrival (DOA) with mathematical elaboration and simulation results as ...

Adaptive filtering algorithm for direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation with small snapshots
Digital Signal Processing, 2019Abstract The direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation problem with a few noisy snapshots can be formulated as a problem of finding a joint sparse representation of multiple measurement vectors (MMV), and some algorithms based on compressive sensing (CS), such as the joint l 0 approximation DOA (JLZA-DOA) and Multiple Snapshot Matching ...

IEEE Communications Letters, 2010
This letter discusses the problem of direction of departure (DOD) and direction of arrival (DOA) estimation for multi-input multi-output (MIMO) radar, and derives a reduced-dimension multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm therein. The proposed algorithm, which only requires one-dimension search, can avoid the high computational cost within ...

Comparison of conventional and subspace based algorithms to estimate Direction of Arrival (DOA)
2016 International Conference on Communication and Signal Processing (ICCSP), 2016The Direction of Arrival (DOA) technology and researches are evolving areas in array signal processing. Biomedicine, sonar, radar, seismology, astronomy communication and earthquake widely use this estimation. We receive an incoming wave by sensing an array or a set of arrays, this sensed wave can be processed to derive many related estimation ...

Direction of arrival (DOA) parameter estimation with the SAGE algorithm
Signal Processing, 2004In this study, we investigate the estimation of the relative delay, the azimuth and elevation angle and the complex amplitude of a known received signal with the space alternating generalised expectation (SAGE) maximisation algorithm. This optimisation algorithm is used to replace the high-dimensional optimisation procedure, necessary to compute the ...

Improved maximum likelihood spectrum for direction of arrival (DOA) estimation
ICASSP-88., International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2003A variation of J. Capon's (1969) maximum-likelihood (ML) spectral estimation algorithm is described for calculating direction of arrival using a short linear array. The proposed modification involves altering the computed covariance spectral matrix by setting its lowest eigen value to a small, positive constant lambda '(min).

A SYSTOLIC ARCHITECTURE FOR CAPON'S DIRECTIONS-OF-ARRIVAL (DOA) ESTIMATION METHOD
Parallel Algorithms and Applications, 1993In this paper, a systolic array architecture is designed for the parallel implementation of Capon's direction-of-arrival estimation method in array signal processing. The architecture uses the QR decomposition on the data matrix to compute Capon's angular spectrum. The systolic array employs N(N + l)/2 + N processing elements (PEs).
