Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Combined Process‐ and Phase‐Field‐Simulation to Predict the Microstructure of Single‐Crystal Ni‐Based Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined finite element and phase‐field approach predicts the evolution of microstructure during the directional solidification of Ni‐based superalloys. The model reveals how withdrawal rate, temperature gradient, and wall thickness control the dendrite spacing, highlighting the strong effect of surface regions in thin sections where dendrite growth ...

Direction of arrival estimation with coprime arrays

open access: yes

Antenna array geometries and algorithms for direction of arrival estimation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Direction of arrival (DOA) estimation with the antenna array was a forever topic of scientist. In this dissertation, a detailed comparison of the direction of arrival (DOA) estimation algorithms, including three classic algorithms as MUSIC, Root-MUSIC ...

Evaluating Energy Absorption Performance of Filled Lattice Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Maximum stress must be considered to robustly evaluate energy absorber designs. This approach was applied to compare all types of absorbers in a single Ashby diagram and determine the utility of filling lattice voids with a second material. High‐performance fillers can improve the performance of lattices that are limited by buckling or catastrophic ...

Joint Direction of Arrival and amplitude estimation using Particle Swarm Optimization and a single snapshot

open access: yes, 2010
Direction of Arrival (DOA) estimation is a problem which concerns very diverse fields of interest. In most applications, not only the DOA but also the estimation of the amplitude of the incoming signals is becoming an important issue.

Performance Analysis of Abradable Coating Systems for Aircraft Gas Turbines

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Three CoNiCrAlY/YSZ/MgAl2O4 abradable liner configurations on a nickel‐superalloy are evaluated by thermal‐gradient cycling and incursion tests. Laser ablation of the bondcoat and/or Y2O3‐stabilized ZrO2 (YSZ) intermediate layer increases mechanical interlocking and bonding for thick topcoats.

Direction of arrival estimation using combined coprime and nested array

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2019
A combined coprime and nested array geometry is designed and a corresponding direction of arrival (DOA) method is proposed. The proposed array has three subarrays, where two are prototype coprime subarrays, and both of them are nested to the third one ...
