Topological Directional Coupler
AbstractInterferometers and beam splitters are fundamental building blocks for photonic neuromorphic and quantum computing machinery. In waveguide‐based photonic integrated circuits, beam‐splitting is achieved with directional couplers that rely on transition regions where the waveguides are adiabatically bent to suppress back‐reflection. In this study,

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Shallow-Rib Strip Waveguide Directional Coupler Based on Amorphous Silicon
Programmable photonic integrated circuits implement optical switching and processing by interconnecting reconfigurable 2 × 2 cells in mesh topologies. Directional couplers are widely used in these cells, often combined with phase-shifting mechanisms to ...

Propagation and perfect transmission in three-waveguide axially varying couplers [PDF]
We study a class of three-waveguide axially varying structures whose dynamics are described by the su(3) algebra. Their analytic propagator can be found based on the corresponding Lie group generators.

For the first time, a highly sensitive electrochemical biosensor based on SiO2‐based hairy particles with a grafted PDMAEMA polymer brush containing a quantifiable and large amount of immobilized Laccase is reported. The fabricated biosensor exhibits a sensitivity of 0.14 A·m⁻¹, a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.1 µm, and a detection range of 0.3–750 µm,

Band Alignment in In‐Oxo Metal Porphyrin SURMOF Heterojunctions
Porphyrin core metalation in indium‑oxo SURMOFs enables systematic tuning of band edge positions without altering the crystal structure. First‑principles calculations reveal type‑I and type‑II heterostructures as well as multi‑junction energy cascades, establishing a modular strategy for exciton funneling and charge separation in optoelectronic ...
