New Directions in Linear Differential Equations

SIAM Review, 1979
This paper is an exposition of results achieved by Garrets Birkhoff and coworkers in their study of the linear differential equation ${\bf x}' = A(t){\bf x}$, in which the off-diagonal entries of the coefficient matrix are nonnegative. Of interest is the direction of a solution vector, not its length.

Erratum: Directional Sparsity In Optimal Control of Partial Differential Equations

SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 2015
Summary: This erratum corrects a mistake in the statement and proof of Lemma 3.6 in [\textit{R. Herzog}, SIAM J. Control Optim. 50, No. 2, 943--963 (2012; Zbl 1244.49038)]. This mistake does not have an impact on any other results in the paper.

Direct and inverse problems for degenerate differential equations

ANNALI DELL'UNIVERSITA' DI FERRARA, 2018
In this paper, the authors are concerned with the general abstract linear equations of the type: \[ BMu-Lu=f, \] where \(B\), \(M\) and \(L\) are closed linear operators in a complex Banach space \(E\), \(f\in E\) and \(u\) is the unknown, and their applications. They first establish sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of a solution,
