Structure‐Guided Dynamical Mechanics in Bioinspired Double Twisted Laminated Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores a dynamic mechanistic study of crack propagation and puncture testing via real‐time monitoring of crack initiation, propagation, and termination through nature‐inspired single and double twisted architectures fabricated from cellulose nanocrystals.

Functionalizing Micro‐to‐Mesoscopic Electrode Architectures for Regulating Electron Transfer Behaviors in Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A systematic review is conducted to assess the influence of electrode architecture across micro‐ to mesoscopic length scales on electron‐transfer pathways in electrocatalysis. We discuss the structure‐activity relationships in electrocatalytic applications, including resource recovery and environmental remediation, and provide cost‐effective, efficient

Directivity patterns for room acoustical measurements and simulations

open access: yes, 2015
The acoustics of rooms can be objectively described by the room impulse responses obtained for given transfer paths using measurement or simulation. In practice, the directionally dependent behavior of sources and receivers is often disregarded and thus ...

Electrostatic Superlattices Beyond 1:1 Stoichiometry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polymer‐mediated charge regulation drives two hierarchical routes to higher‐stoichiometry nanoparticle superlattices. Tuning the polymer's molecular weight promotes progressive interstitial filling, transforming ZnS into the fully occupied CaF2${\rm CaF}_2$ lattice. Exchanging polymer assignment between large and small nanoparticles instead breaks CsCl

Light‐Induced Field‐Tunneling Synapses in Solution‐Processed Van Der Waals Heterostructures for Scalable, Retina‐Inspired Optical Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable, solution‐processed WSe2/ZrO2‐x van der Waals heterostructure realizes a light‐induced field‐tunneling synapse (LIFTS) that activates exclusively under bright illumination, emulating the photopic adaptation of the human retina at the device level.

Marine mammal's directivity in geoacoustic inversion scheme

open access: yes, 2014
International audienceGervaise & al 2011 and Barazzutti & al 2013 described the general structure of a scheme to estimate the nature of superficial sediment in shallow waters using marine mammal's whistles and a single receiver.
