(881/882 г.) и найденный в 2011 г. при раскопках на Рюриковом городище. Эта редкая и красивая по оформлению монета обязана своим происхождением бурным историческим событиям, имевшим место в 870–880-е гг. в Хорасане.

The Telavi Hoard of Clipped Umayyad Dirhams
The Near East and GeorgiaThis study examines a hoard of clipped Umayyad dirhams discovered in 2022 in the environs of Telavi, a city in eastern Georgia. The hoard comprised only Umayyad dirhams, reportedly numbering between 20 and 25, including: Dimashq – 2 (11.8%); Wāsiṭ – 11 (64.7%); Al-Kūfah – 1 (5.9%); Al-Baṣrah – 2 (11.8%); Fīl (a rare mint of unknown location) – 1 (5.9%).

The Tall al-Bī ʿ a hoard of ten silver dirhams and one copper coin (t. p. q. 186) probably constitutes a cash deposit drawn from circulation in the urban market of al-Raqqa. It seems to be a negative selection. The hoard reflects the preponderance of the North African dirhams in circulation at the time of Hārūn al-Rashīd.

‘Twenty Dirhams’ in the Kitāb of Sībawaihi
Bulletin of the School of Oriental and African Studies, 1972Sībawaihi has occasionally been criticized for his obscurity and inconsistency. The former may be conceded, since it pertains only to his style and presentation, which undoubtedly make heavy demands on the reader, but the second criticism is an attack on Sībawaihi's linguistic reasoning and needs to be refuted.
