We consider the transient drift-diffusion model with fast diffusion terms. This problem is not only degenerate but also singular. We first present existence result for general nonlinear diffusivities for the Dirichlet-Neumann mixed boundary value problem.

We consider strongly elliptic differential-difference equations with mixed boundary conditions in a bounded domain. There are homogeneous Dirichlet conditions on a part of the boundary, and boundary conditions of the third kind on the other part of the ...

Bi-Conjugate Gradient Stabilized and Multigrid Approaches Based on Nonstandard Finite Differences for the Solution of Elliptic Partial Differential Equations [PDF]
This study introduces a robust and highly accurate numerical scheme for the solution of two-dimensional elliptic partial differential equations subject to Dirichlet boundary conditions.

Multiple solutions of fourth-order difference equations with different boundary conditions
In the present paper, a class of fourth-order nonlinear difference equations with Dirichlet boundary conditions or periodic boundary conditions are considered. Based on the invariant sets of descending flow in combination with the mountain pass lemma, we

The maximum principle for equations with composite coefficients
It is well-known that the maximum of the solution of a linear elliptic equation can be estimated in terms of the boundary data provided the coefficient of the gradient term is either integrable to an appropriate power or blows up like a small negative ...

Positive solutions for second-order boundary-value problems with sign changing Green's functions
In this article we analyze some possibilities of finding positive solutions for second-order boundary-value problems with the Dirichlet and periodic boundary conditions, for which the corresponding Green's functions change sign.

Quantum properties of non-Dirichlet boundary conditions in gravity
The Euclidean path integral for gravity is enriched by the addition of boundaries, which provide useful probes of thermodynamic properties. Common boundary conditions include Dirichlet conditions on the boundary induced metric; microcanonical conditions, which refers to fixing some components of the Brown-York boundary stress tensor; and conformal ...

Fractional Sobolev space: Study of Kirchhoff-Schrödinger systems with singular nonlinearity
This study extensively investigates a specific category of Kirchhoff-Schrödinger systems in fractional Sobolev space with Dirichlet boundary conditions. The main focus is on exploring the existence and multiplicity of non-negative solutions.

We briefly review and investigate the performance of various boundary conditions such as Dirichlet, Neumann, linear, and partial differential equation boundary conditions for the numerical solutions of the Black-Scholes partial differential equation.

Homogenization of the oscillating Dirichlet boundary condition in general domains
We prove the homogenization of the Dirichlet problem for fully nonlinear elliptic operators with periodic oscillation in the operator and of the boundary condition for a general class of smooth bounded domains. This extends the previous results of Barles and Mironescu in half spaces.
