On closability of classical Dirichlet forms

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis, 2004
Let \(H\) be a Hilbert space, \(D({\mathcal E})\) a linear subspace of \(H\) and \({\mathcal E}:D({\mathcal E})\times D({\mathcal E})\to \mathbb R\) a nonnegative symmetric bilinear form. The form is closable if \(u_n\in D({\mathcal E})\), with \(u_n\to0\) in \(H\) and \({\mathcal E}(u_n-u_m,u_n-u_m)\to0\) implies that \({\mathcal E}(u_n,u_n)\to0 ...

Impact of Uncertain Parameters on Navier–Stokes Equations With Heat Transfer via Polynomial Chaos Expansion

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, EarlyView.
This study investigates the impact of uncertain parameters on Navier–Stokes equations coupled with heat transfer using the Intrusive Polynomial Chaos Method (IPCM). Sensitivity equations are formulated for key input parameters, such as viscosity and thermal diffusivity, and solved numerically using the Finite Element‐Volume method.

Numerical schemes for general Klein–Gordon equations with Dirichlet and nonlocal boundary conditions

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2018
In this work, we address the problem of solving nonlinear general Klein–Gordon equations (nlKGEs). Different fourth- and sixth-order, stable explicit and implicit, finite difference schemes are derived.

Efficient Numerical Framework for Geothermal Energy Production Optimization in Fracture‐Controlled Reservoirs

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, EarlyView.
We introduce an efficient open‐source numerical framework for the automated search for the placements of injection and production wells in hot fracture‐controlled reservoirs that sustainably optimize geothermal energy production. We model the reservoirs as discrete fracture networks in 3D. The fluid flow and heat transport in the reservoirs are modeled

Coupled Clustering in Hierarchical Matrices for the Oseen Problem

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, EarlyView.
Fluid flow problems can be modelled by the Navier‐Stokes or, after linearization, by the Oseen equations. Their discretization results in linear systems in saddle point form which are typically very large and need to be solved iteratively. We propose a novel block structure for hierarchical matrices which is then used to build preconditioners for the ...

Local Polynomial Regression and Filtering for a Versatile Mesh‐Free PDE Solver

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, EarlyView.
A high‐order, mesh‐free finite difference method for solving differential equations is presented. Both derivative approximation and scheme stabilisation is carried out by parametric or non‐parametric local polynomial regression, making the resulting numerical method accurate, simple and versatile. Numerous numerical benchmark tests are investigated for

Chen inequalities on warped product Legendrian submanifolds in Kenmotsu space forms and applications

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications
In the current work, we study the geometry and topology of warped product Legendrian submanifolds in Kenmotsu space forms F 2 n + 1 ( ϵ ) $\mathbb{F}^{2n+1}(\epsilon )$ and derive the first Chen inequality, including extrinsic invariants such as the mean

On the spectral problem for three-dimesional bi-Laplacian in the unit sphere

open access: yesҚарағанды университетінің хабаршысы. Математика сериясы
In this work, we introduce a new concept of the stream function and derive the equation for the stream function in the three-dimensional case. To construct a basis in the space of solutions of the NavierStokes system, we solve an auxiliary spectral ...

Composite Media and Asymptotic Dirichlet Forms

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis, 1994
A metric topology on the space of Dirichlet forms is introduced. Compactness and closure properties of families of local and non-local forms are studied.
