Balayage of Semi-Dirichlet Forms

Canadian Journal of Mathematics, 2012
AbstractIn this paper we study the balayage of semi-Dirichlet forms. We present new results on balayaged functions and balayagedmeasures of semi-Dirichlet forms. Some of the results are new even in the Dirichlet forms setting.

On Unsymmetric Dirichlet Forms

Canadian Journal of Mathematics, 1973
Let F be a linear, but not necessarily closed, subspace of L2[X, dm], where (X,,m) is a σ-finite measure space with the Borel subsets of the locally compact space X. If u and v are measureable functions, then v is called a normalized contraction of u if and Assume that F is stable under normalized contractions, that is, if u ∈ F and v is a ...

Convergence of Discrete Dirichlet Forms to Continuous Dirichlet Forms on Fractals

Potential Analysis, 2004
Consider a finitely ramified fractal possessing a ``Laplacian''. Approximate the fractal by a sequence of increasingly refined ``grids''. On these grids the Laplacian defines a unique sequence of discrete energies which increases to the continuous energy, the bilinear form defined by the Laplacian.

Dirichlet forms on partial *-algebras

Mathematical Proceedings of the Cambridge Philosophical Society, 1988
Dirichlet forms and their associated function spaces have been studied by a number of authors [4, 6, 7, 12, 15–18, 22, 25, 26]. Important motivation for the study has been the connection of Dirichlet forms with Markov processes [16–18, 25, 26]: for example, to every regular symmetric Dirichlet form, there is an associated Hunt process [13, 20].

Limits of relaxed dirichlet problems involving a non symmetric dirichlet form

Annali di Matematica Pura ed Applicata, 2001
The purpose of this paper is to extend some homogenization results to the case of nonsymmetric Dirichlet forms; the symmetric case has been previously studied by Biroli and Tchou. More precisely, let \(X\) be a locally compact separable connected Hausdorff space, \(m\) a given Radon measure supported on \(X\).

Capacities for Dirichlet forms

1993
In this paper the author gives various equivalent expressions for the capacity defined by a Dirichlet form. In particular, in case of local Dirichlet forms satisfying the standard conditions to define an intrinsic metric, integral representations are discussed.
