This article systematically categorizes muscle characteristics into five properties: redundancy, independency, anisotropy, variable moment arm, and nonlinear elasticity, and analyzes their combined effects on control.

This essay aims to craft intersections between the figure of the cyborg and disability that part from the usual ones. I will frame disability advocacy through the concept of “cyborg politics”, as proposed by Donna J. Haraway in her famous Cyborg Manifesto (1991). I will discern two possible meanings of it, affinity and avidity.

Disabled people object strongly to the term 'the disabled', which identifies individuals and groups solely in terms of their disability and which objectifies them as people. The rights movement found its expression in anti-discrimination and disability legislation, with a strong focus on asserting and protecting people's rights.
