The Host R‐M Systems Change the Host Range of Staphylococcus Phage EBHT
MicrobiologyOpen, Volume 14, Issue 6, December 2025.The study shows how Staphylococcal restriction–modification (R‐M) systems methylate the phage genomic DNA and change the phage host range. The host R‐M systems should be considered when selecting phage manufacturing hosts, as the manufacturing host with a higher yield can result in a narrower phage host range.
