ABSTRACT The heat equation is often used to inpaint dropped data in inpainting‐based lossy compression schemes. We propose an alternative way to numerically solve the heat equation by an extended Krylov subspace method. The method is very efficient with respect to the computation of the solution of the heat equation at large times.

ABSTRACT Epigenetic aging models hold great promise for enhancing many aspects of wildlife research and management. However, their utility is limited by the need to train models using known‐aged animals, which are rare among wildlife species. We present a novel approach to developing methylation‐based age prediction models that enables us to train ...

ABSTRACT Environmental RNA (eRNA) metabarcoding has rapidly emerged as a powerful tool for assessing contemporary biodiversity patterns across diverse ecosystems. However, the potential for false positive detections caused by co‐extracted environmental DNA (eDNA) remains unquantified.

Chemical enrichment in local disc galaxies
Modern integral field spectroscopy surveys are shedding new light onto the chemical enrichment history of discs in the nearby Universe. In this talk I will summarise current results on gas-phase chemical abundances from SDSS-IV MaNGA and MUSE observations of local discs taken by the PHANGS collaboration.
