Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Apparatus for study of plasmas at elevated temperatures [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
Microwave discharge plasmas take place within heated zone. Changes in weight of specimens in plasma as well as temperature of sample and plasma can be obtained, facilitating determinations of reaction rates and recombination ...

Life‐Threatening Bradycardia in Anti‐NMDA‐Receptor Encephalitis and a Novel Use for Permanent Pacing

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric anti‐NMDA receptor encephalitis (pNMDARE) is an autoantibody‐mediated disorder that can cause severe autonomic dysfunction, including symptomatic bradycardia and asystole. Dysautonomia can last for years, making it very challenging to manage.

Charactoristic of Scroll Compressor Refrigeration System with Twice-Vapor Injection

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2015
The thermodynamic model to analyze the scroll compressor refrigeration with twice-vapor injection system has been set up and the calculation program is designed. The two suitable middle pressures are calculated, and the recommended empirical formulas are

Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy due to Biallelic Pathogenic Variants in PIGM

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective PIGM encodes a critical enzyme in the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchor biosynthesis pathway. While promoter‐region mutations in PIGM have been associated with a relatively mild phenotype characterized by portal vein thrombosis and absence seizures, recent evidence suggests that coding‐region mutations result in a more severe

Electron Temperature Measurements in Discharge Capillaries

open access: yes, 2022
The electron temperature of hydrogen and argon plasmas, that were produced at gas pressures of a few millibar and with electron densities in the range of $1\times10^{15} \text{cm}^{-3}$ to $1\times10^{17} \text{cm}^{-3}$, were investigated. These working points are typical of plasma sources which are used in beam-driven plasma wakefield accelerators ...

Parametric tests of a 40-Ah bipolar nickel-hydrogen battery [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
A series of tests were performed to characterize battery performance relating to certain operating parameters which include charge current, discharge current, temperature, and pressure. The parameters were varied to confirm battery design concepts and to

Epilepsy‐Associated Variants of a Single SCN1A Codon Exhibit Divergent Functional Properties

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Pathogenic variants in SCN1A, which encodes the voltage‐gated sodium channel NaV1.1, are associated with multiple epilepsy syndromes exhibiting a range of clinical severity. SCN1A variants are reported in different syndromes, including Dravet syndrome, which is associated with loss‐of‐function, whereas neonatal/infantile‐onset ...

ALDOA Promotes Glycolysis and NLRP3/GSDMD Pyroptosis to Accelerate ALS Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is characterized by progressive motor neuron degeneration. Glycolytic dysregulation is implicated in disease progression, yet the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigates how Aldolase A (ALDOA) drives ALS progression through glycolysis‐mediated motor neuron pyroptosis.

Groundwater flow systems in the Bengal Delta, Bangladesh, inferred from subsurface temperature readings [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2013
Borehole temperatures were measured in observation wells to determine the temperature-depth profile, magnitude oftemperature and thermal gradient. The observed temperature profiles are classified into recharge and discharge types.
