Electrostatic discharge specifications and protection methods

Northcon/98. Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.98CH36264), 2002
For much of the past two decades manufacturers and purchasers of integrated circuits (ICs) have been educated about the threat posed by electrostatic discharge (ESD) to individual components as well as to entire electronic systems. Historically, the industry accepted model to define the ESD threat was MIL-STD-883, Method 3015 (commonly known as the ...

Post discharge surveillance methods: a critique

Australian Infection Control, 2001
Mortality, morbidity and costs related to surgical site infections (SSI) are significant. It is therefore important to perform surveillance for SSI to determine the quality of care and identify areas for improvement. An increasing number of SSI manifest after discharge due to shorter hospital stays and, as a result, traditional methods of infection ...

Calibration methods for electrostatic discharge generators

2008 Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements Digest, 2008
This paper describes a calibration set-up for electrostatic discharge (ESD) generators used in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) immunity tests. A coaxial shunt and a voltage divider are used for current and voltage measurements respectively. The presented measuring systems are traceable to the national standards.

Distribution methods for transferable discharge permits

Water Resources Research, 1980
A mathematical model has been developed to simulate the operation of a single‐price auction of transferable discharge permits. Permits may be sold at auction by the control authority or may be given, free of charge, to the dischargers according to some agreed‐upon formula and subsequently redistributed by a similar auction.

New Method for Estimation of Discharge

Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, 2006
A new technique for drawing isovel patterns in an open or closed channel is presented. It is assumed that the velocity at each arbitrary point in the conduit is affected by the hydraulic characteristics of the boundary. While any velocity profile can be applied to the model, a power-law formula is used here.

Partial Discharge Potential Free Test Methods

2006 IEEE Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena, 2006
During the last few decades, partial discharge measurement and analysis have been considered one of the most important test methods for evaluating the quality of electrical machines and insulating systems. Test methods based on potential free capacitive and/or inductive couplers have taken place as well as methods based on the galvanic circuit with ...

Discharge simulation based on particle methods

2016 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical and Power Engineering (EPE), 2016
In this paper is presented an discharge simulation based on particle methods. The particle-in-cell (PIC) method is a self-consistent technique in which arbitrary distribution functions of charged particles are statistically represented by discrete computer particles.
