Arthrography of the discoid lateral meniscus [PDF]
Twenty-seven cases of discoid lateral meniscus (DLM) were diagnosed during the course of 985 knee arthrograms; 19 had the classic discoid shape while eight were less large and believed to represent a forme fruste. Based on anatomic and arthrographic appearances, DLM was classified into six types.

Abstract Although the sternoclavicular joint shares structural similarities with the knee and hip joints as a diarthrodial joint, its biomechanics differ significantly due to its non‐weight‐bearing nature. Nevertheless, it is subject to considerable loading, leading to increased susceptibility to osteoarthritis, a prevalent condition characterized by ...

ABSTRACT Historical quantification of cyanobacterial harmful algal blooms (cHABs) typically involved labor‐intensive manual cell counting. We developed a novel, cost‐effective, field‐validated system to perform cell counts of six common toxin‐producing cyanobacterial genera within 30 s of upload with 10‐min sample preparation.

Morphometric analysis of lateral menisci in North Indian population: a cadaveric study [PDF]
Background: The menisci (formerly called semilunar cartilages) of the knee lie within the knee joint between the femur and tibia and somewhat adapt the tibial and femoral condyles to each other.

This systematic review evaluated the use of fibrin clot as an adjunct in meniscal repair with sutures. Althought early clinical outcomes are promising, available evidence remains limited and heterogeneous. Further hight quality studies are needed to determine the true benefits of fibrin clot in promoting meniscal healing.

A Study Of The Special Features Of The Meniscal Tear [PDF]
Objectives: Arthroscopic meniscectomy is a treatment with good short-term results. To prevent the long-term adverse effects of meniscal tear injuries, it is necessary to study the unique features, such asthedemographic characteristics of the injury, the ...

ABSTRACT Purpose It is difficult to diagnose discoid lateral meniscus (DLM) clinically, and various imaging modalities are employed to aid diagnosis. However, the use of radiographic parameters as a diagnostic tool remains unvalidated. Hence, this study aims to determine the validity of radiographic parameters and their role in diagnosing DLM.

Abstract Lateral meniscus (LM) extrusion is a clinically significant condition associated with loss of hoop stress function and progressive joint degeneration. Preventing or correcting LM extrusion is critical for preserving knee joint function. Although several centralization and hoop augmentation techniques have been reported, many are nonanatomic ...

Anatomical variations of knee ligaments in magnetic resonance imaging: pictorial essay [PDF]
Evaluation with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is currently a gold standard for comprehensive posttraumatic assessment of the knee joint. Increasing availability of MR systems with stronger magnetic fields and new sequences results in higher resolution
