We consider a p-adaptive discontinuous Galerkin method in space and time for linear hyperbolic systems. This is applied to the visco-acoustic wave equation in the formulation as first-order system. The method is applied to the forward problem in seismic imaging, and we study the convergence of the fully adaptive parallel method by the numerical ...

Abstract In this note we consider a parabolic evolution equation in a polygonal space-time cylinder. We show, that the elliptic part is given by a m-accretive mapping from L q (Ω) → L q (Ω).

We present a new class of discontinuous Galerkin methods for the space discretization of the time-dependent Maxwell equations whose main feature is the use of time derivatives and/or time integrals in the stabilization part of their numerical traces ...

A hybrid discontinuous in space and time Galerkin method for wave propagation problems
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 2014SUMMARYMedium‐frequency regime and multi‐scale wave propagation problems have been a subject of active research in computational acoustics recently. New techniques have attempted to overcome the limitations of existing discretization methods that tend to suffer from dispersion.

A Space-Time Discontinuous Galerkin Method for Convection and Diffusion in Injection Moulding
International Journal of Forming Processes, 2004In this article, we investigate a space-time finite element method for solving the convection-diffusion-reaction equation. This method is based on a discontinuous Galerkin technique using low order elements in space and high order elements in time. The suggested method is applied to solve the transport equation and the heat equation in 3D mold filling.
