This work analyzes a prototype of a quasi-switched boost inverter (qSBI) feeding an isolated resistive load from a DC source. The use of spatial vector pulse width modulation (SPWM) with triangular comparison is proposed to increase the qSBI gain factor,

Constraint Harmonic Compensation Strategy for Extending Power Routing Capability in CHB Converter
Power routing or uneven power distribution in modular systems based on a cascaded H-bridge (CHB) converter is sometimes desired or even required, such as in hybrid battery energy storage applications. For series-connected cells, such as in CHB, the power

Discontinuous modulation of modular multilevel converters without the need for extra submodules [PDF]
In this paper, a new approach to the discontinuous modulation technique for the operation of the modular multilevel converter (MMC) is presented. Discontinuous modulation is based on adding a zero-sequence to the original modulation signals so that each MMC arm is clamped to the upper or lower terminals of the dc-link bus during some intervals.

Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Discontinuous PWM Techniques of Three-Leg Two-Phase Voltage Source Inverter for Sonar System
Pulse width modulation (PWM) methods are important for the detection performance of a sound navigation and ranging (sonar) system because they determine the output noise of the system.

A discontinuous autoinhibitory module masks the A1 domain of von Willebrand factor [PDF]
Essentials The mechanism for the auto-inhibition of von Willebrand factor (VWF) remains unclear. Hydrogen exchange of two VWF A1 fragments with disparate activities was measured and compared. Discontinuous residues flanking A1 form a structural module that blocks A1 binding to the platelet.

Control of Polarization and Polar Helicity in BiFeO3 by Epitaxial Strain and Interfacial Chemistry
In BiFeO3 thin films, the interplay of interfacial chemistry, electrostatics, and epitaxial strain is engineered to stabilize homohelicity in polarization textures at the domain scale. The synergistic use of a Bi2O2‐terminated Aurivillius buffer layer and a highly anisotropic compressive epitaxial strain offers new routes to control the polar‐texture ...

We propose a suture‐complementary approach that integrates optical skin clearing with a strain‐programmable luminescent adhesive patch. Hyaluronic acid promotes transdermal delivery of tartrazine to improve optical clearing and stabilizes its interaction with a photosensitizer. Optical clearing increases the penetration depth of visible light into skin,
