Fabrication Routes for Ionic Conducting Fiber Strain Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic conducting fiber strain sensors (ICFSs) offer compliant, textile‐integrable sensing. Thus far, the commercialization of ICFSs has been constrained by fiber fabrication routes. This review provides a fabrication‐centric analysis of ICFSs correlating processing strategies with material properties and scalability.

Seamless Transition Between Continuous and Discontinuous Modes Suitable for Natural-Sampled PWM in Variable-Frequency Two-Level VSI Operations

open access: yesElectricity
In high-speed drive applications, including drone propulsion systems and high-speed spindle drives, switching frequency is often limited by thermal constraints or cost considerations when the adoption of wide-bandgap power devices is not economically ...

Control of Polarization and Polar Helicity in BiFeO3 by Epitaxial Strain and Interfacial Chemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In BiFeO3 thin films, the interplay of interfacial chemistry, electrostatics, and epitaxial strain is engineered to stabilize homohelicity in polarization textures at the domain scale. The synergistic use of a Bi2O2‐terminated Aurivillius buffer layer and a highly anisotropic compressive epitaxial strain offers new routes to control the polar‐texture ...

A single‐stage step‐up inverter with reduced devices count

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2021
This study presents a single‐phase single‐stage step‐up inverter (SSSI), which can be used as an interface converter in micro‐source generation systems such as photovoltaic (PV) and fuel cells. The proposed inverter has several appealing features. (1) It

An Efficient Grid-tied Flyback Micro-inverter with DCM Control Strategy

open access: yesJournal of Techniques, 2021
In two-stage micro-inverter photovoltaic (PV) applications, DC/DC converter is used to obtain the highest DC power from the PV module. In this type of inverter, the rising of voltage from the PV module to a grid voltage level is limited to a certain ...

Regulated Ion‐Diffusion Hydrogels for Subtle and Multimodal Temperature‐Strain Sensing in Wound Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A soft, dual‐channel hydrogel patch enables simultaneous detection of wound temperature and strain by integrating ion‐diffusion‐mediated thermoelectric and resistive sensing. The conformal design maintains stable performance during motion, capturing subtle inflammatory and mechanical changes for continuous wound monitoring.

A Generalized Scalar Pulse-width Modulation for Nine-switch Inverters

open access: yesEletrônica de Potência, 2014
The nine-switch inverter has been proposed recently and, since then, a large number of applications has been investigated, specially as a substitute to the dualbridge (back-to-back) converter. The main advantage of the nine-switch inverter is its lesser

Omnipolar Magnetic Field Detection by Superlattice‐Based Hall Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic‐field‐induced electronic switching is demonstrated in unit‐cell‐engineered La0.7Sr0.3MnO3–BiFeO3 superlattices. Distinct substrate terminations modify magnetic and transport properties. Hall resistance measurements show omnipolar, hysteretic anomalous Hall switching above the Curie temperature, arising from Fe─Mn interfacial exchange, enabling
