A novel partitioned hybrid PWM strategy to reduce the common‐mode voltage in three‐level neutral‐point‐clamped inverters

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 17, Issue 15, Page 2344-2357, 25 November 2024.
The proposed partitioned hybrid PWM strategy can restrict the common‐mode voltage within 1/6 of the DC voltage, while it makes a balance with the THD of the three‐phase current waveforms and the loss of the three‐level inverter compared to the conventional PWM strategy.

Peak-Zero-DPWM for Improving Performance of Single-Phase Five-Level T-Type NPC Inverter

open access: yesIEEE Access
The discontinuous pulse width modulation (DPWM) improves the efficiency and reliability of power devices by reducing the switching losses. However, it aggravates the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of outputs and the reliability of DC-link capacitors ...

A Novel Carrier Scheme Combined with DPWM Technique in a ZVS Grid-Connected Three-Phase Inverter

open access: yes, 2022
In this paper, a novel switching scheme using discontinuous pulse-width modulation (DPWM) for a zero-voltage switching (ZVS) grid-connected three-phase inverter is proposed. ZVS in the main and auxiliary switches was achieved.

Torque ripple suppression in non‐commutation interval of the coreless brushless DC motor based on unipolar PWM predictive control

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 17, Issue 13, Page 1621-1631, 14 October 2024.
An incremental predictive control strategy based on unipolar pulse width modulation (PWM) is proposed in the non‐commutation interval to double the current ripple frequency, which can reduce the current ripple. On this basis, the prediction equations of adjacent control periods are subtracted to eliminate the influence of non‐ideal back‐electromotive ...

Novel clamping modulation for three‐phase buck‐boost ac choppers

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 60, Issue 13, July 2024.
Three‐phase ac choppers feature output voltage amplitude controllability and enable more compact system realizations compared to autotransformers. However, these systems suffer from offset voltage drift, which was so far addressed by means of lossy discharge resistors. This paper proposes and verifies experimentally a novel clamping modulation ensuring
