Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

Introduction to discrete event simulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The paper describes some of the elementary principles of the discrete event simulation and goes on to discuss more general simulation issues that are of wider interest, such as the power of object-oriented simulation software packages, such as eM-Plant ...

Prospects of Electric Field Control in Perpendicular Magnetic Tunnel Junctions and Emerging 2D Spintronics for Ultralow Energy Memory and Logic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electric control of magnetic tunnel junctions offers a path to drastically reduce the energy requirements of the device. Electric field control of magnetization can be realized in a multitude of ways. These mechanisms can be integrated into existing spintronic devices to further reduce the operational energy.

Automatic Parallel-Discrete Event Simulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This paper describes a software enviroment devised to support parallel and sequential discrete-event simulation. It provides assistance to the user in issues such as selection of the synchronization protocol to be used in the execution of the simulation model.

Speeding Up Network Simulations Using Discrete Time [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We develop a way of simulating disease spread in networks faster at the cost of some accuracy. Instead of a discrete event simulation (DES) we use a discrete time simulation. This aggregates events into time periods.

Controlled Aggregation of Pyrene‐Based Supramolecular Nanostructures for Light‐Driven Switchable H2 or H2O2 Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work reports the self‐assembly of a pyrene derivative into two distinct nanostructures and their application in visible‐light photocatalysis. The two nanostructures exhibit completely different yet complementary photocatalytic activities, promoting either H2 or H2O2 evolution.

Discrete event simulation of multimodal and unimodal transportation in the wood supply chain: a literature review

open access: yesSilva Fennica, 2018
This review systematically analyses and classifies research and review papers focusing on discrete event simulation applied to wood transport, and therefore illustrates the development of the research area from 1997 until 2017.

Wavelength‐Dependent Differential Amplification of Raman Scattering by Chiral Gold Nanorods for Multiplexed Encoding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The SERS spectra of reporter molecules adsorbed on chiral gold nanorods depends on the handedness of circularly polarized light (CPL‐SERS). The bisignate plasmonic CD spectra of chiral nanorods provides wavelength‐dependent CPL‐SERS. Selective discrimination of chiral nanorod handedness and different Raman reporters allow highly sensitive codification ...
