Quantized Robust Event-Triggered MPC for Linear Discrete-Time Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper presents a Quantized Event-Triggered Model Predictive Control (QET-MPC) framework for linear discrete-time systems with bounded disturbances, introducing a unified treatment of event-triggering and dynamic quantization within a dual-mode MPC ...

Control of Discrete Event Systems

open access: yes, 1987

Inverse Identification of Energy‐Dependent Laser Absorptivity in NiTi Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion via Calibrated Melt Pool Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.

Compatibility of Methacrylate Based Resins Controls Interfacial Failure and Toughness in 3D‐Printed Multimaterial Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...

A comparison of discrete event simulation and system dynamics for modelling health care systems

open access: yes, 2001
In this paper we discuss two different approaches to simulation, discrete event simulation and system dynamics. Both have been used widely in the health care domain, although there are fewer applications of system dynamics.

EROSIÓN DEL SUELO ACENTUADA POR UN ACOLCHADO DE GRAVILLA EN UNA LADERA EN RESTAURACIÓN EN CANTERAS DE ALMERÍA (SEDE ESPAÑA)

open access: yesRevista EIA, 2015
Uno de los principales procesos de degradación de suelos en ambientes restaurados es la erosión causada por el agua, a la que son especialmente sensibles las laderas mineras.

Influence of Scan Strategies in Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion on Solidification, Microstructure, and High‐Temperature Compressive Properties of γ′‐Strengthened Inconel 738LC

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Experiments and thermophysical simulations were conducted to investigate the electron beam powder bed fusion electron beam (PBF‐EB/M) process for the γ′‐strengthened nickel‐based superalloy Inconel 738LC. The results demonstrate the impact of process‐induced microstructural variations on high‐temperature mechanical behavior, providing a basis for ...

Mechanical Behavior and Fracture Mechanisms of MXene/PVDF Nanocomponsites: In Situ Characterization and Multiscale Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multiscale experiments and modeling reveal how Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets reinforce PVDF nanocomposites. An optimal MXene loading (∼1 wt.%) nearly doubles tensile strength through efficient stress transfer, flake alignment, and crack‐deflection mechanisms, transforming ductile polymer behavior into a controlled multi‐stage fracture pathway which aligns ...

Incremental verification and synthesis of discrete-event systems guided by counter-examples

open access: yes, 2004
This article presents new approaches to system verification and synthesis based on subsystem verification and the novel combined use of counterexamples and heuristics to identify suitable subsystems incrementally.
