Affine Weyl groups, discrete dynamical systems and Painleve equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
A new class of representations of affine Weyl groups on rational functions are constructed, in order to formulate discrete dynamical systems associated with affine root systems. As an application, some examples of difference and differential systems of Painleve type are discussed.

Active Learning‐Driven Discovery of Sub‐2 Nm High‐Entropy Nanocatalysts for Alkaline Water Splitting

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐entropy nanoparticles (HENPs) hold great promise for electrocatalysis, yet optimizing their compositions remains challenging. This study employs active learning and Bayesian Optimization to accelerate the discovery of octonary HENPs for hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions.

Asymptotic behavior of discrete holomorphic maps z^c, log(z) and discrete Painleve transcedents [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2005
It is shown that discrete analogs of z^c and log(z) have the same asymptotic behavior as their smooth counterparts. These discrete maps are described in terms of special solutions of discrete Painleve-II equations, asymptotics of these solutions providing the behaviour of discrete z^c and log(z) at infinity.

Topological conjugacy for unimodal nonautonomous discrete dynamical systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The goal of this article is to study how combinatorial equivalence implies topological conjugacy. For that, we introduce the concept of kneading sequences for nonautonomous discrete dynamical systems and show that these sequences are a complete invariant for topological conjugacy classes.

Predicting Aggregation Behavior of Nanoparticles in Liquid Crystals via Automated Data‐Driven Workflows

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, a comprehensive framework that enabled the optimization of colloidal solubility within a high‐dimensional parameter space and study of reversible assembly processes is developed. This data‐driven workflow integrated innovations including the robotic platform for automated AuNPs functionalization, machine learning for predicting and revealing ...

Some Chaotic Properties of Discrete Fuzzy Dynamical Systems

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
Letting (X,d) be a metric space, f:X→X a continuous map, and (ℱ(X),D) the space of nonempty fuzzy compact subsets of X with the Hausdorff metric, one may study the dynamical properties of the Zadeh's extension f̂:ℱ(X)→ℱ(X):u↦f̂u.

Time-delayed impulsive control for discrete-time nonlinear systems with actuator saturation

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2019
This paper focuses on the problem of time-delayed impulsive control with actuator saturation for discrete-time dynamical systems. By establishing a delayed impulsive difference inequality, combining with convex analysis and inequality techniques, some ...

Supercompliant Lattice Boosts n‐type AgSbTe2 Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The supercompliant lattice design enables the first realization of n‐type electrical transport in AgSbTe2 by overcoming intrinsic electron‐killer defects and exceeding the doping limits imposed by the conventional Hume–Rothery rule. Accordingly, the best performance n‐type Ag0.8Na0.3Sb0.6Bi0.4Te2 sample achieves a low κ of 0.27 W·m−1·K−1 that ...
