Numeration and discrete dynamical systems [PDF]

open access: yesComputing, 2011
This survey aims at giving both a dynamical and computer arithmetic-oriented presentation of several classical numeration systems, by focusing on the discrete dynamical systems that underly them: this provides simple algorithmic generation processes, information on the statistics of digits, on the mean behavior, and also on periodic expansions (whose ...

Controlled Aggregation of Pyrene‐Based Supramolecular Nanostructures for Light‐Driven Switchable H2 or H2O2 Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work reports the self‐assembly of a pyrene derivative into two distinct nanostructures and their application in visible‐light photocatalysis. The two nanostructures exhibit completely different yet complementary photocatalytic activities, promoting either H2 or H2O2 evolution.

Double Helical Plasmonic Antennas

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Plasmonic double helical antennas funnel circularly polarized light to the nanoscale, offering strong chiroptical interaction and directional light emission. Extending a single helix design tool, this study combines numerical modeling with experimental validation, revealing large, broadband dissymmetry factors in the visible range.

Time-discretization of Hamiltonian dynamical systems

open access: yesComputers & Mathematics with Applications, 1994
AbstractDifference equations for Hamiltonian systems are derived from a discrete variational principle. The difference equations completely determine piecewise-linear, continuous trajectories which exactly conserve the Hamiltonian function at the midpoints of each linear segment.

Flexibility and Dynamicity Enhances and Controls Supramolecular Self‐Assembly of Zinc(II) Metallogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Zinc(II) coordination complexes with tunable aryloxy‐imine ligands exhibit controllable supramolecular self‐assembly into hierarchical fibrous structures. Coordination‐driven stacking, not π–π interactions, enables gelation, dynamic assembly/disassembly, and enhanced nanomechanical properties.

Engineering Assembloids to Mimic Graft‐Host Skeletal Muscle Interaction

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study develops a graft‐host skeletal muscle assembloid model combining neuromuscular organoids with tissue‐engineered constructs. Pre‐seeding decellularized muscles with myogenic cells enhances cell migration and axon invasion from the organoid. The model exhibits regenerative capacity following acute damage, advancing the understanding of human ...

Tattoo Assisted Optical Sensor System for Multimodal Discrete Physiological Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Conventional temporary tattoos can be used for improving the speckle imaging signal‐to‐noise ratio and stability of the specifically developed device for capturing skin motion related to physiological activities beneath the skin. This allows for sensing multimodal electrophysiological signals and physiological events from the skin consistent with ...
