The SERS spectra of reporter molecules adsorbed on chiral gold nanorods depends on the handedness of circularly polarized light (CPL‐SERS). The bisignate plasmonic CD spectra of chiral nanorods provides wavelength‐dependent CPL‐SERS. Selective discrimination of chiral nanorod handedness and different Raman reporters allow highly sensitive codification ...

Discrete events: Perspectives from system theory [PDF]
Summary: Mathematical system theory has traditionally been concerned with differential or difference equations. Recently, however, there has been increasing interest of system theorists for `discrete event systems', whose evolution in time is marked by the occurrence of `events' (arrivals of messages or customers, completion of tasks, etc.). Rapid Diagnostics of Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces Using Space‐Time‐Coding Modulation
A fast reconfigurable‐intelligent‐surface (RIS) diagnostics method is proposed based on spatio‐temporal modulation with orthogonal codes. Theoretical analysis demonstrates a clear distinction in code channel power between normal and faulty elements. Simulations validate its feasibility under high fault ratios and varying receiving angles.

Control of Discrete Event Systems

Discrete event simulation of administrative and medical processes
Background: Medical processes are often obstructed by administrative ones. The main issue in administrative processes is uneven workload resulting in an increased possibility of human errors.

Double Helical Plasmonic Antennas
Plasmonic double helical antennas funnel circularly polarized light to the nanoscale, offering strong chiroptical interaction and directional light emission. Extending a single helix design tool, this study combines numerical modeling with experimental validation, revealing large, broadband dissymmetry factors in the visible range.
